What is the connection between shaolin and tanglang? I noticed this on the russbo site. My sifu maintains that tai chi praying mantis is closest to the mantis originally taught at the shaolin temple. I also noticed that some tai chi praying mantis schools add “shaolin” to their name. Just curious…![]()

I dunno why Taiji would be the closest. Mei Hua also traces back to Wang Lang.

If you check those lineages, they all go back to Wang Lang. I think that’s about the only Shaolin connection you’ll find.
