Can anyone help me locate a good eagle claw school in the Palm Beach area? I have noticed that there are alot of posts about choy li (lay) fut in this general area but none about eagle claw. I don’t think I am ready to change my style at this time. Any info would be greatly appreciated
There is no “real” eagle claw in South Florida for you unfortunately. There are some other styles so you may have to consider another option.
Peace.
eagle claw
flying eagle,
there is a eagle claw school in pembrook pines. nee’s kung fu.
don’t know much about them. but i hear he is now trainning under
lilly lau. i believe she is the grandmaster of that system. it is also a long way from palm beach. there is a choy lay fut school in plantation ( florida kung fu academy ) that is on the corner of 595 and university dr. very easy to get to from palm beach. it’s about a twenty min. dr. and is run buy sifu jon wai. we have a few people who come from your area. if you need directions i would be glad to help.
freezeme4,
Thanks for the invite. Let me see how far Nee’s is first. If the drive seems too much, than maybe I would be willing to try a new style. Just in case it is too far for me to go, can I get directions to your school. Thank you.
Not to jump over freezeme4, but there’s also a Lee Koon Hung Choy Lay Fut school in Boynton Beach, run by Sifu Li Siu Hung. You can check it out and get info here. We have several people from as far up as North Palm Beach study with us. Come by and say hi.
FlyingDragonFan,
As I told Freezeme4, I first want to check out Nee’s. Your school is definately closer though. What’s the difference between your school and the other CLF school? Thanks.
Well, I could just puff up my chest and say that ours is better, but I’ve never been to the other school, which as freezeme4 said is run by Jon Wai. Both Sifu Wai and my Sifu, Li Siu Hung, studied under Sifu’s older brother Lee Koon Hung, so they teach essentially the same style, though Sifu Li has been practicing CLF since he was eight. Sifu Wai has, I think, also studied Mantis, but I don’t know if that is taught at his school or not (freezeme4 can tell us.)
directions for flyingeagle
FlyingEagle,
Take the turnpike or I-95 south to I-595 west to University Dr. north. Look for Kinkos on left and we are in that shopping center. If you hit Peters Rd. you went to far. Stop by and i’ll fill you in on the true history of our school.
Thanks, Freezeme4
Freeze4me:
How long have you follow Sifu Wai?
I’ve been to Nee’s once. He is truly skilled. I live in Coral Springs. How far is it to these eagle claw schools from where I live? (Riverside Dr. and University Dr.)
clfnole,
To answer your question, long enough to be your sihing:) Can you guess who this is? Here is a little hint. I love to throw roundhouse kicks. Still haven’t guessed? Another hint:)
Also, i can’t stand a person who brags about their ability especially when their isn’t much to brag about. do the initials G.M. ring a bell. I’v also noticed a few G.M. types on this forum, that make it a point that their the head of this and the head of that.
Lance, I think you would agree that sifu ( Lee Koon Hung) taught
us to be modist and let our kung fu do the speaking. Would you agree or not? This is just my opinion and my opinion alone.

ps: Tell Ken and Cristine I said hi
Freeze4me:
I think I know who this is, however you could only be one of three people there who would be my sihing, excluding John of course since he is the sifu. It has been along time since I have seen any of you spar and I think there is a long line of people who don’t like Mr. G.M. (**** dog!).
Anyway I agree with you 100%. This is one of the fundamental differences I had with the old school. Too many show offs and not enough modesty.
Peace.
clfnole check your mail
i sent you a pm
Freezeme4:
I sent you one back.
Take it easy.
