Dear Master, Fellow Martial Artist,
It is my pleasure to inform you that the Jow Ga Shaolin Institute is
organizing a Qingping Jian Seminar which is a First Time Ever Event!
of its kind. As you know QingPing Jian is a unique sword system and is
known to straightsword aficionados as “The Crown Jewel of Chinese
Straight Sword Systems.”
The seminar will be taught by Grandmaster Lu Junhai, 6th Generation
Shaolin Mizong Quan and 9th Generation QingPing Jian Heir.
The seminar will contain three sessions from August 1 through August
3. Description and fees are as follows.
Session 1: Straight Sword Basics
Friday August 1, 2008 | 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Straight sword basics, including sword fundamentals and body
mechanics. Anyone interested in Chinese straightsword techniques, no
matter what style or level, will benefit from this session.
Session 2: Qingping Straight Sword Form Instruction
Saturday August 2, 2008 | 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
This is the first time Grandmaster Lu will teach an authentic Qingping
Jian routine in public.
Session 3: Form Review and Corrections
Sunday August 3, 2008 | 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
This will be a detailed, hands-on review and individualized correction
of this sophisticated form.
Look for an upcoming article on Qingping Jian this fall in the Asian
Journal of Martial Arts.
