Asia: well, my ldl/hdl levels weren’t so great either. it may be genetic…both my parents have high cholesterol. this was the first full physical I’ve had since…hmm, I guess basic in 85. So, I’m watching things more closely and she’ll recheck in about 6 weeks and we’ll see.
but, anyways…even before that I was like “25 grams per serving!!!” and didn’t buy a second canister and looked for other sources.
Mr. P: yea, I was basically told I didn’t know what I was talking about…and I don’t usually…but I still stick with the 20g/2 hours rule for myself.
I did read that article pretty well and realized that the edamame was not too bad…still don’t like 'em…bring on the pad thai!!!
but, I think I’m going to err on the side of caution and keep soy at 10-20% of protein intake.
Whenever I eat less than 200g of protein a day, I lose weight (I don’t exactly have a lot of fat to lose, either), I get tired, sick and sluggish. My digestion gets fuxord, as well.
Of course, I’m doing karate 12+ hours a week, weight training twice a week, and my job doesn’t let me sit down for more than an hour a day, 40+hrs a week.
Thats why I had to get mine. I didn’t have one since basic and now they track your medical and other status online an the ***** if its in the red. Good luck on getting it down.

Was it 25 grams or 25 miligrams? 25g is a bit much but 25 mg isn’t that bad.
Depends on your goals and your body type right? I don’t know why you seem to be taking one guy’s apocryphal evidence over a lot of current sprots nutrition science, but anyway, all I know is, I’ve increased my protein intake by half to two thirds (every couple of hrs intake) since I started weights two months ago, and I’m already lifting bigger more easily (despite being in it slowly fot rehab purposes), plus I gained 3 kilos in those two months. And my body fat is the same/a tad lower.
I’m a hard gainer. I don’t know why people assume that everybody’s insides are the same when you just need to look at fingerprints and the way people think to know there is a lot of human variation. But the 20 g/2 hrs seems like a reasonable baseline.
