I’ll take a bit of a risk here but if you want to see the flavor of the mei hua tanglangquan in Qingdao take a look at Zhang Maochang’s performance (I think the kid is about 13 or 14 in this clipping):

Scroll down to:
Godson Zhang Maochang playing Praying Mantis at the tournament
and click on the performance and please try to cut the kid a break if you don’t like what he plays. Personally I think its pretty good and is one of the forms Sun De Yao taught at our seminars.
Thanks RAF!
Happy New Year to you and every one at Master Tony Yang’s! What a coincidence…I was just visiting Master Yang’s site today, but I did not look at the pictures. I almost missed a rare treat with the video of the child prodigy! His performance at Qingdao is the same setting as the mantis clip on my site, but I wasn’t that good when I was his age. Please tell him I send a special thumbs up from NY!
Xin Nian Kuai Le to you and your (new) family and students!
Good luck on your upcoming seminar.
Zhang Maochang is Zhang Weifu’s son and I hope all of your students get a chance to travel to the Qingdao Tournament in the future.
Later.
