Party on the Great Walls?

There are vendors and young people gatherning on top of the Great Walls.

They BBQ, drink wines, party till 6:00 am.

There are trashes, urines, vomitus left behind etc.

Shame. Shame. Have no respect for the historical sites or landmark!

Qin Shi Huang who started to build the Walls and used 2/3 of his subjects.

2200 years later. It is a party ground?

It is a big wall. Not exactly a sacrament.

It would be like not having a party in a castle.
rock teh ramparts and party on, but the vomiting needs to stop. The great wall is also a mass grave and that is not cool puking on the dead and all.

still, happy people a little drunk…I don’t see how that is worse than tourists trampling all over it every day. It’s just a pile of stone in reality.

The Big Red Garbage Problem

In HK, they take Wedding Pictures, professional pictures, etc at Stanley Military Cemetery. The grass is green, the grounds well kept kept. They just angle the cameras so they don’t see the graves.

Graveyards are good places for Western Travellers to get a cool night’s sleep in hot weather Or if travelling and can’t find a room then find a graveyard. Chinese are too superstitious to go near them at night.

Westerners have been going for years to isolated parts of the Great Wall to do an overnighter and private party. Quite often thieves are waiting for them to fall asleep and they steal their backpacks with their cameras inside etc. If they clash with some kind of fighter and someone goes over the Wall, they wouldn’t be found for a long time. It’s a long way down to rocks below, and a wild area.
..
As for the Great Wall, China is already corrupted and desecrated by the Communists. This descecration of garbage is the way things work everywhere in a corrupt system. Fom small to large this is everywhere. It costs money to clean up, and have clean up staff … good money that can be better served to indulge Comrade Chicom with Beijing Duck.

How about the Wetlands in the New Territories? Why don’t you complain about that? There are a lot more important things to complain about in China than garbage on the Wall, but I guess a small start is a good start towards the development of some social awareness for those that are somewhat unfamiliar with China.

If you want to complain about what the Chicoms are doing to China you need to write an encylopedia.
You can start with the Slave Prison Gulags work your way to the Harvesting Prisoners Organs, The Selling of Wives, Brutal Feudal Slavery of the workers and end up with the Grinding Misery of Ecomomic Corruption and Totalitarian Ownership. Oh yes, and go on to World Aggression, buying economic ownership of Oil, food. technology etc. in every corner of the World and preparing a Military to Nuke the US and use against any other country in order to expand it’s acquisitions.
…
Given all that, why begrudge the masses a party? I say let them party all over China’s great symbol of Slavery and Oppression.
..
Yes, be sure to put the garbage in it’s proper perspective.
..

Everywhere accross China things are like this unless it attracts National attention and the Feds crack down for political reasons, the oppressed people have to live with it and die with it.
…
Maybe they should just tear down the wall and use the material for housing. Any human remains can be cremated and interned elsewhere. The Chicoms had no trouble tearing down the Beijing Walls and historical sites to make highways and apartment blocks. Why stop there?
…

Yeah well nothing wrong with partying, If you want to get rid of the trash and the vomiting you have to get rid of the Chicoms. Either that or wait for the US-China/WW4, (WW3 will be the Islamic-Western War) and if you are lucky the Chicoms will lose and you can save the Wall, if anything left of it.

Anyway good luck in getting rid of the Chicoms.

One thing at a time.

The Walls of Ten Thousands Miles. There are poems, histories, stories etc. It is a culture symbol. A feat of human military “engineering”?

True, most of the walls decayed over time. The Ming Walls expanded it.

During culture revolution, the Walls were destroyed as the symbol of the old.

There are parts rebuilt to attract the tourists.

There are nice hotels nearby with a great view.

Garbage Gripe

Get a Grip! It’s still there.

I’ve been there, very impressive wide steep stairs and road on top of a Wall with ramparts, turrets and staion houses extending endlesly with towers atop distant rolling hills.

…

Don’t worry!

Some garbage cans, mops and pails and it will be as good as new!

Or as good as old!

Always look at what people need.

China is not producing enough food for her people. It is buying from everywhere.

China is short of energy. The coalmines are run 24h, 7 days a week. Look at the coalmine accidents every a few month. China failed to buy unocal but now is looking into Australian, New Zealander or european energy companies.

All river systems produce floods due to over deforestration upstreams.

The typhoons are wreaking havocs, too.

The GM and Ford are making cars to the domestic market for 6000 US$ a piece.

They are paying the Chinese workers at assembly line 60 US$ per month.

In 2015, there will be more cars emitting CO2 in China than the US.

Talking about global warming.

The countries of eat Asia are buidling up Navies. They are vying for the oil fields and gas on east and south China seas.

The funds for naval buildup exceed those for the US.

–

If there is WW3 or 4, it will be limited naval conflicts over the east and south China seas.

–

People have to eat. People need energy to move about and heating for the winter.

–

What is it today? What is it tommorrow?

–

We need each other ever more globally.

There will not be any nuke war or huge land wars.

People will not allow or afford it.

There is only one green planet that we all share.

We may not pretend the problems of other countries are not our own.

not to get too involved…

i’ve heard about the “great wall parties/raves”…in fact..when i was in beijing two weeks ago, i was actually given some flyers by the local kids…i was rather surprised that they’re able to get away with this…but it does still suck that someone, somewhere is allowing this to go on at the only man-made structure that is visible from orbit…

everything else regarding war, lack of energy, etc…i’m not gonna debate about.

Almost exactly ten years ago I had my own little ‘overnighter’ on the wall. Did the tourist zombie walk like everyone else, hung around one of the more ‘ruined’ parts and laid low when security folks went around flushing the tourists off.

Had some beers and some snacks in my pack.

Ran through some Taichiquan at around 3 AM under a full moon with good visibility and not a soul around, and thought I was being real cool.

wow didnt know there are so many anti PRC peeps on this forum. Watch too many Neo conservitives shows or articles? LOL Before you counter me with" well tell me I am wrong…etc" first, if you want to debate what all the false info you just said, go to another forum I can recommand you some, with people REALLY study China and knows their stuff. Second, this thread is not about politics.

Geez, yeah, poor little Dictators…

Not “buying” products … buying companies, technologies and …“investing”.

Yeah now you got it!

A brutal dictatorship that only knows force, that mismanages it’s own resources by virtue that is the nature of any dictatorship, andd it has got it’s eye on OTHER countries resources: like Oil and Food. It’s easier to take things than make them.

Yeah people got to eat and since they mismanage their own country they will take other county’s resources.

They will decide it’s them or us and they will have no qualms about exterminating us as they have no qualms about exterminating their own.

All of this unnecessary. The truth is China has the resouces to be a paradise right now and for the next 10,000 years. It is the hidden truth. All the problems are the result of RED mis-management and RED corruption.

And as for economics, The Unocol deal? The Chinese offer of billions was something under 10 percent of America’s annual trade deficit with China.

In other words they are buying American business with profits they made from America. As for the workers paid peanuts, that is the way Red China works, no matter how rich the bosses, the workers will still be paid peanuts. In the Gulags run by the Red Army, they don’t haveto pay the workers.. free slave labour.

Absolutely wrong and naive. You are uninformed. You need to get list of Oil and other companies that China owns and has invested in and WILL be determined to protect by force. That includes every part of the world. And understand the historical perspective and the internal forces driving China.

If USA can go halfway around the world and take Iraq, you think China can’t take Iran or Venuzuela or Saudia Arabia.?
And you forgot Russia and the Western Borders and Vietnam and India. Try asking Russian military how comfortable they feel with China.
China’s CCP is constantly putting down Islamic rebellions in the Western provinces. If you research you can find out about the executions , rebellions, massacres and repression there, but not even Western governments want the public to know about this becuse they don’t want their trade with China jeopardized.

The world has shrunk. Technology gets the troops and equipment anywhere.
You ain’t seen nothing yet.

“As always, twice a week a replacement squad of missileers, in Russian called “rocketchiki,” heads out to 20 remote launch control centers. From underground bunkers, they will command 200 missiles buried in silos… They say that they can send their rockets up to go to the United States, Britain or China or elsewhere on the globe in about two minutes after receiving orders from the General Staff in Moscow.”

.. and they are in conflict with China over Resources and borders and are not trusting themat all.

What is it today? What is it tommorrow?
[/QUOTE]

So there is a conflict between Islamic Countries, Stateless Powers, CCP Totalitarian China,Western/Russian World Block, Third World vying for the world’s resources and world power.
Basically a conflict between Dictatorships and Democracies.. that has been the whole history of the 20th century with the democracies so far in the ascendancy.

But add to that something new.. a conflict between Civilization and Anarchy..the Neo-Al Quaedists are something like the Monguls let loose upon the world. They are an anti-civilization force. “Not a stone standing was the Mongul Motto. Like the Kymer Rouge, Neo Al Quaeda wants " Year Zero”.

Add a couple of madmen countires like North Korea and Iran selling nuclear bombs to Islamic Revolutionary Guars which will pass them on to Al Quaeda.
Also add the strange phenomenon of “The Liberal”: a product of Modern civilization.. Western permissive-spoiled people who grow up protected by military might,to whom hardship and suffering is unkown and yet have some kind of guilt-angst about their good life so that they want to destroy their own countries and their own protectors.
..
What about to-morrow?

Oh, the good guys will win, I’m sure. We always do. We always will.
We got Hitler and USSR and Noreiga and Saddam didn’t we? Even Vietnam is a ghost country now. We even got Gerald Bull and Eichmann and the Golan Heights and tuned Lybia and got the 7/21 terrorists and Jiang Qing and Kang Sheng and one day Liberty will get’em all!
…
China will be free again and they will prosper by themselves when they are free of their tyrants.

Happy Face Politics are to Ghengis Khan as Internet Kungfu is to Traditional Kungfu.

The Cosmic Wall?

[/QUOTE

If you are planning any inter-galactic tours selling tickets to Romulans or Klingons I wouldn’t expect much successs. The first Astronaut couldn’t see the Wall.
It’s not on anyone’s hotlist up there:

Read below:

"According to NASA, the earth as seen from the moon takes up less than one degree of arc in the sky. Basically it looks like a big blue marble. No man-made detail can be seen at all; sometimes even the continents are barely distinguishable.

The NASA folks, I gather, are getting a little tired of hearing about the Great Wall of China. Nobody knows exactly where the story got started, although some think it was speculation by some bigshot during an after-dinner speech in the early days of the space program. The Teeming Millions are humbly requested to give it a rest."

"The first problem comes in defining exactly where outer space is. Is it one hundred miles up? One thousand miles up? Halfway to the Moon? On the Moon itself? At the altitude the Space Shuttle orbits (typically between 190 and 350 miles above sea level), the Great Wall is a thin, barely visible line. But other objects are visible as well, such as the Golden Gate Bridge, the Panama Canal, and the Fresh Kills Landfill on Staten Island. The Eisenhower interstates are also faintly visible as well, as well as crisscrossing patches of farmland adjacent to the Great Wall itself.

What about the Moon? There are only a few eyewitness accounts, but none have reported seeing it. To the contrary, they’ve all clearly stated that it’s not visible. Moonwalkers Neil Armstrong and James Irwin stated that it was not visible, and photos from the Apollo missions prove it as well. The continents themselves are hard to make out from the surface of the moon. A wall twenty feet wide doesn’t have a prayer.

Aside from eyewitness accounts, one can calculate the possibility of seeing an object from the moon simply by knowing the distance between the Earth and the moon and the resolution of the human eye. With 20/20 vision, an object would need to be almost a half a mile in two dimensions for it to be visible from that far away. The entire Earth fits in less than two degrees of arc when viewed from the lunar surface. Not much room for distinguishing features.

So what’s the last man-made thing you can see as you travel away from the Earth? Well, assuming it’s not self-illuminating, like any number of cities whose light is visible at night, the objects that would be the last to be obscured would be the Dutch polders."

We are all cool til we lose an eye.
What section of the Wall did you go to?

Does that make you a pro-PRC peep?

Always “people first”.

My family and relatives served or are serving in public office, armed services and police forces etc.

Chinese politics are family and then group politics.

There are 3 principles of the people.

Love the people.

Serve the people.

Protect the people.

Some time it turns into:

Love the country. Serve the country. Protect the country.

then

Love the party. Serve the party. Protect the party.

Then

Love the ruler. Serve the ruler. Protect the ruler.

The ruler may be president, king, emporer, etc.

Then you think again.

If the world is only for one man only or not?

If the world is only for one party or not?

If the world is only for one country or not?

If the world is only for just you or not?

Chinese people are culturally family oriented and then group oriented.

If you do not consider people first,

You will lose the heart of the people, and then the power,

There will be widespread uprising and revolution.

These are historical lessons for those in power in China.

So what is this? When i try to post using QUOTES my window jams… KFM maintenence this week? Anyone else have this problem?

nice chatting.

Just say what you think.

got to run.

need to go to work.

text messaging is popular now.

Viewing the planet from orbit (which is the claim suggested) is much different than viewing the planet from the moon.

how much different?

exactly 238,857miles different (thats roughly 385,000 km)

I dont know about you, but generally speaking, my human eyes have a problem making out detail at that range.

Now if we are speaking orbit, which is the only thing humans have done since the first landing and orbiting of the moon. Well then it is well documented that human creations such as the Great Pyramids ARE in fact visible from orbit.

Doing Tai Chi with a full moon.

Way cool.

Great Walls are also “superhighways” for fully armed soldiers on horseback, how many in a row, may move along the path.

The beconing of the fire or the smoke places on top of the structures.

I heard too many stories about the walls.

Party on the wall was never on my mind.

I was sort of “shocked”.
