OT: Crazy Marines!!!!!

Okay, has anyone noticed that these marines and spec ops guys are really exciteable? I mean hyper aggressive?! What do yout hink guys, was it somthing they fed us?

It’s called brainwashing.

Its called training, and some people call it duty.

Its called training, and some people call it duty.

…and your point is what? I was a Marine for 5 years. How about you?

Just calling it like I see it.

AGRESSIVE!!!

It was the eggs in boot i bet lol? Or maybe it was being yelled at for 3 months and getting treated like poo? Not brainwashing there smart one. We are supposed to be agressive maybe a little to much for me though!!

Those were eggs? I had to eat those things for four years! They told me the nimitz had the best eggs in the fleet, I am pretty sure they were just reheating all the eggs we didnt eat in boot!

Brainwashing!? For the weka minded maybe

…or those who cannot spell!

I can spell???

Those eggs were awesome. I liked the chow at 29 palms the best. Quantico was okay but It could of used some salt. Food is food when you hungry.

Air Force bases always seemed to have the best food. I used to go to Hickam AFB all the time to eat when I was stationed in Hawaii.

You too! When I was in Saudi I had a good friend who was in the airforce and stationed close by so whenever I could I went to visit him about chow time, like a freakin resteraunt that mess hall was. Not ours, it barely had walls and a roof!
i actually didnt eat a whole lot at the mess in Quantico, only when I had to but I have to say it was better stuff then the palms!

question for the actualy marines

Do u guys believe that most marines would do well in a street fight?

In a street fight yes, heres why-

Precluding a mix up with a martial artist, marines have some combat training,` most are physically in good shape, but the most important mix is will. By the time you get through boot, you have been shown how to focus your will to accomplish a goal, goals which may at first not seem attainable.
I dont think most marines are the end all to be all in a street fight by any means. I have however seen many marines in street fights my closest buddy made it a habit!
Lets say it this way, if you were to give the average man a 30% chance in a street fight, I would give a marine a 60% chance.
I knew some guys in the Army who were tough *******s as well. And I met a few Navy Seals, and no offense to them, the HtH combat stuff they showed me was pretty mediocre, although good enough to take most. The thing that makes most people tough is thier will. My buddy was 5,6" tall and regularly took guys almost a foot taller then him. I once saw him take three huge guys at once in a parking lot!

It’s all about mindset.

importance of military training in real life

Is there an importance? I mean, u say it helps u to focus. If I were to ask many of the rich/famous/important people around, I bet most of them never had military training. Which leads me to believe that being in the military doesnt make one special. I’m not dissing anyone in the military! I’m just saying, if normal people can accomplish so much without military training, then…what’s the point?

The Point

Freedom, America, honor, Justice..however you want to look at it. Some people may say that sometimes what America fights for is wrong, I wouldnt disagree with them, we have gone to war for some pretty pathetic reasons, but someone has to fight.
I didnt join the marine corp to learn how to fight specifically, I joined to do a service to my country. To put my life on the line for what I believed in. I was on FAST because I got to kill bad guys, real life bad guys who were out to take away the freedom and the lives of people not only in america, but all over the world. I was trained to kill people like those that flew the planes on Sept 11. I was willing to do it because of what they were willing to do. Some say military men are too extreme. I met many a meek marine, many a marine who was unassuming, and quiet. The difference between them? They put thier lives out there. “Every man and woman a rifleman”. To me this meant that as a marine, I was ready to die, that we were willing to die to the very man, to fight for what we believed. none of us wanted to, and when I was shot at, I had all those “coward like” thoughts, what the hell am I here for! How stupid is this? None of them changed my mind. I would die for what our country stands for, not a single political party, or a law or a belief system, but for the poeple who live between our borders, and who carry a little bit of america all over the globe. We are a great nation, there are others out there but this one is mine.
There are people who have never been in the military, and have become successful, thats cool by me, I was there so someone else didnt have to be.

Hey how come nobody told me there was a Marine thread??

Or a Marine Irish Pennant

Oh, those weren’t eggs BTW. Unless of course, you two were lucky enough to go to boot in San Diego. Our eggs were yellow painted sand fleas.

In a street fight? I got into plenty of fights when I was young and skinny. Funny, people didn’t want to screw with me when I came home from Parris Island…I wonder why? To tell you the truth, Marines fight dirty as hell, and don’t stop until we drop dead. Hence the expression, Semper Fi do or die. Do you really want to tangle with someone who thinks that way?

Brainwashing? Only for the weak. But if what I learned in PI and in the fleet was brainwashing (self-discipline, stick-to-it-tive-ness, goal setting, courage, pride, honor, taking care of one’s own people) then call me Mister Clean!

what’s up Mister Clean?

hehehe.

I was pretty much joking when I made the brainwashing comment, but I do think bootcamp was a minor form of brainwashing. Of course some are/were effected more than others.

What was the whole point of this again???

Marines are extreme

Both of my Wing Chun instructors were ex-marines. After their service, one became a violent criminal, since semi-reformed, the other became an
investigative Sheriff. I heard marines like to fight alot, even if it’s with each other in the line to mess hall.
I also heard that they recruit violent types into the marines. Not to diss, I am thankfull there are men out there willing to fight to protect me and my family. Much respect, but can you guys tell me if these things are true??
