So you are down on a whole proffecion for the failings of the few? and it is the few, not “the majority.” The accounting supervisor at my company is so full of himself he actually trieddc to get the local mass transit company to move his bus stop so he wouldn’t have to mingle the the masses. he deserves to be compared to a small dog. Most cops I know try very very hard to pretend they aren’t cops when they aren’t in the uniform…

Thanks for serving! Seriously, a small minority in this country may abuse their power, but the vast majority do great work, and risk their well being for the sake of others. Anybody who works in the midst of crisis: doctors, military, nurses, emt, fire, police, all of these professions deserve respect, even though all of them have individuals whom are bad.

Cops don’t get nearly the degree of respect they deserve. I was comparing jobs, and you know, Cops tend to have a more dangerous job than us military, if you consider it all. We go downrange, but that’s 15 months. Cops may we walking in a war zone for their whole careers.
People don’t like them because they are doing the wrong thing and get caught. Wondered why the cop was such a jerk when he gave you the speeding ticket? Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, you shouldn’t have been %$&$ing speeding in the first place?
Funny how the only time I’ve ever had to deal with a cop was when I was doing something wrong, or looked like I was doing something wrong.

Indeed, being a police officer is one of the toughest jobs there is. You’re under serious pressure to deal with bad people, dangerous situations, tragic situations, etc. - without letting the daily grind of all that poison your psyche.
That’s not easy.
I have had a few bad experiences with police officers, though I hold no annimocity towards them. For the record, I have no record. All negative experiences I have had have been largely due mis understandings. We are all people.
Like any group of peoples, it takes all kinds, the good, the bad, and the ugly so to speak. This is the kind of wisdom you get from actually having “been around the block”.
I also at one point had been drawn to the idea of being a police officer, I enjoy helping others, as well as making a difference in my community. However where I leave you need to have a college degree, which I dont.
I do believe officers deserve our respect.
They say respect is earned, not given. IMO signing up, and putting on that badge I feel should award the benefit of doubt, at which point respect should be lost based on actions.
Police officers have been involved in many wrong doings and actions, though I feel the good outweighs the bad in this case.
Unfortunately this field of employment is no different than any other where in the good is outshadowed by the bad in many cases.
Its a shame people so easily forget all of the good that is done by people.

So I came in for my shift a couple of weeks ago, and a swarm of agents are out in the lobby, and there’s this old man sitting in one of the chairs. They had him in custody for questioning. It was G.M. Hilton. Man, you could tell in one look that guy was guilty. He was completely calm, collected, and unsurprised.
Cops aren’t *******s. Not all of them anyways. The *******s are these sick ****s the police take down for murdering teenage females and chopping their heads off.
Some of you guys might be ****ed they give you a ticket, question you for information, or because they’re looking for someone that fits your description and give you a thorough interview. But ****, man, would you rather have guys like Hilton stalking around?
Or perhaps like that cop who is suspected of killing his wife and oops they never found her I am sure he is not guilty right Sure. KC
