I think someone should be made a mod that isn’t an MMA fanboy.
If you look at some of the other sections, we have people who don’t even do CMA policing the forums.
We need a strictly internal with no fighting and no self-defense, purely spiritual type of person to moderate this forum!!!111:D
I agree 100%!!!
Let’s see…Oso runs a Praying Mantis club and I run a San Da club.
I think we got all the CMA we need in here.
I should be made a moderator here… elsewhere, ok, maybe not, but I have both TCMA and MMA credentials… and I’m also an adorable fuzzy little guy ![]()
Check with the Master of Killers.
Oso - P.M. Kung Fu
Masterkiller - San Da
Vash - Karate
I think we should be able to do a decent job of keeping the discussion lively and on-topic with out falling back to fanboy-isms.
its not the MMA fanboy’s fault that MMA works 99.9 of the time
and most TMA works 0.01% of the time now is it ?
who can blame him for going on about how much better MMA is ?

Who did the research that lead to your conclusions?
Worked where? By whom? In what manner?
And who is the “HE” that is going on about how much better MMA is?
That said, everybody is welcome to their opinion but it boggles my mind how many people come to a message board often to only comment on how the subject of the message board is garbage.

look at every single full contact fight and u will begin to see a pattern emerge
i doubt that affiliation to one ‘creed’ or the other was a factor in deciding who KFM could trust to moderate the forum.
but, how did you know I had pictures of Chuck and Fedor all over my monitor?![]()

What mortal man could resist such iconography?
Indeed…
I guess you are right when I think about it…
So I suppose if I watch a Lei Tai or San Shou event only the non participating MMA guy is going to win? Or how about a boxing match…that’s full contact but only boxers usually win the big paydays.
Maybe I’m missing something?

No fair. I WAS a cma when I started modding… ![]()
All the mods here are volunteers
We look at several factors in choosing mods. First is volunteering. When the idea of an MMA forum was stickied on the main forum, both MK and Oso were first to volunteer. The early bird gets the worm. I get random members volunteering to moderate forums all the time; we’re not really looking for any more mods right now so don’t bother me.
Another is post count. Both MK and Oso are in the 6K+ club and have managed to get there without offending too many members. MK is even the the Biggest Looser club (as PangQuan likes to misspell it). This dubious honor tells me that said members are on the forum a lot, which is very important. Expertise in the field isn’t as important because no moderator is asked to determine what is real or fake or anything like that (although I’d vouch for all of our present moderators in their knowledge). What’s the most important is that they can break up flame wars and exercise good judgment about when things cross the line. So not ****ing off members in previous flame wars is key.
I’ve also met MK face-to-face, which helped a lot.

First off, 89% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
Second of all, it IS the typical MMA fanboy’s fault that they tend to be brash, rude, condescending, and have this notion of “Settled Science” about their chosen interest. When really, fighting is about “scientific” as the prediction of Hurricanes and almost as arbitrary and counter-intellectual as Politics (almost, mind you- fighting has a little bit more strategy to it.)
Keep in mind, I’m referring to the typical Bullshido/Sherdog type who loves to engage in internet politics wars, has seen lots of MMA, but never done it, and is bitter because they took two Karate lessons when they were a kid and still got beat up by the bully.
In any case, the topic of this thread is way off-base… there’s little fanboyishness to the mods on this forum. Keep up the good work, guys!

Is he as ugly as we all think he is?
I’d like to volunteer my services. Being an expert in supressing sloppy street brawling and mere thuggery at the hands of two-bit criminal meatheads, I believe I would make an excellent moderator for an MMA forum.
