I’m getting in on this too …

Take that!
don’t mean to be negative but why is every MMA themed shirt these days a ripp off of affliction (and btw I think the affliction designs generally suck!)
Massive
Mammillaria
and
Ass.
Now that would be a T-shirt !
Nothing says “I’m Gay” like an MMA t-shirt after all. ![]()

I’m laying low and hoping the mma fad burns down a little.
Going back, mma shirts have never really had what I’d call “great design”.
I even thought the old Cobb stuff stunk.
No Fear was okay, I guess.
Personally, my favorite designs are clean - stuff like Champion gear that just looks like stock athletic wear, Everlast was good (for apparel) before they went all “MMA RAAAWWWRRR”.
Most of the big shirts out now are absolute garbage - overly tight shirts with indecipherable air-brush-looking “art”; don’t forget the pitbulls, barbed wire, horns, wings, chains, lowriders, demons, and “clever” misspellings.
I hate the tough talk on the shirts too. “Jesus didn’t tap” was kind of funny at first, but for the most part it gets on my nerves.
I wish the aesthetic would change. I would much rather see the concepts of sportsmanship and being an athlete being pushed instead of this toughman booshiat. But then, maybe that’s why I gravitate to muay thai & k1 instead of mma.

Chris Heintzman produces a “Kung Fu Fighter” shirt that’s a copy of that shirt…keep meaning to order one

I hate that crap too. Its like one day the gods of MMA declared that Affliction-style graphic Ts were the uniform of the MMA fighter.
I’ve got a Kung Fu Fighter shirt
We even ran a pic of Chris Heintzman’s shirt in a Taiji Legacy review. Can’t remember what year that was…it’ll come to me maybe. Two or three years ago?
A funny MA (not MMA, KMA) shirt.
My favorite MAM MMA shirt is Domination. It looks almost like ‘****ation’ and of course, in my glorious city by the bay, S.F., domination means something completely different than in MMA. I’m trying to wear it out more so the design looks more distressed. I might also have them add a KungFuMagazine.com logo like from the Grasshopper on the back beneath the collar.
here ya go, Gene.
I wear my own clubs shirts, and tournament t-shirts, that’s it. I do want a Tapout ****\rt though. Everybody and their mama got a tapout shirt and I actually train ******!
Not quite a shirt…
…but some MMA fashion.

yeah i don’t like following the train of people going out and grabbing the affliction/tapout gear. I have a couple shirts but rarely wear them. I wear our schools/clubs out in public more so. I really can’t stand the fad stuff with mma, everyone and there brothers dog wear an mma shirt just not me to step into conformity.
I was flipping through the ads this past Sunday and Target (think it was them anyways) was advertising Tapout t-shirts for sale there now.
I was at work one time (contracted in a school) and saw a kid wearing a Randy Couture Affliction shirt. To strike up some conversation while we waited, I asked him about the shirt and if he liked watching MMA. He gave me a blank look and had no idea what MMA was or who Couture was. It’s just the cool thing to wear now.
I’m of the opinion that when people wear around their MA shirts (especially to bars) they are just asking for someone to pick a fight with them. Plus, it’s going to be very hard to convince LEO’s that you really didn’t want to fight when you are wearing a fight t-shirt.

Really, MMA shirts are no different than footbal jerseys. Do you walk up to every kid in a football jersey and ask him what position he plays?
Who cares? I’m not the douche in line at walmart wearing Tapout sneakers.
I get all my mma shirts from Uki.
I have a couple shirts that have tribal like patterns, but I wouldn’t consider them “MMA” shirts. They aren’t really all that different from the stuff I get in surf shops.
The only shirts I have that specifically indicate MMA (either in words or in imagery) are the ones from my gym and our fight team. Those usually only get worn to actual events or on the random occasion I’m trying to drum up a little business for our gym and I’ve got a stack or cards on-hand. But honest our MMA tee’s are really probably cleaner than the surf shop stuff I have.

If I was talking with someone and they were wearing a football jersey and I asked him about the sport, I would expect him to know who the hell he was wearing and know the sport.

but affliction is a clothing range, its a named brand that is very popular that happens to sell MMA clothes, people buy for the brand, where as people buy football shirts to support the clubs (the clubs sell the shirts and make money on them)
