Meditation foods?

What are some good foods that calm? Spiritual aspect, asian herb abvice welcomed!

Not what foods to eat, but what to not.

  1. Dont drink/eat cold foods
  2. Dont eat/drink before qigong/meditation
  3. Dont drink alcohol/intoxicants includes coffee sob
  4. Balance your diet

Thanks. I’ve been drinking blak tea a lot but I just got some really good green tea… so the coffee thing is o.k..

I guess it dpends who you are, cause I love coffee, and if I have coffee, forget about being able to meditate properly…

ahhh the smell of fresh brew coffee… I could litter my home in coffee beans and live in it

I meant not having coffee is o.k. because I drink tea exclusively.

when im training hard qigong were told to avoid anything that can excite the body too much… like garlic, coffee, chocolate, spices etc. But it depends on who you are - for example, if you are indian or pakistani then eating so many spices are part of your everyday diet, so its about balancing.

if you are used to eating a balanced diet and those things only so often its good i think

I’m going to cut way down on food, I’m thinking rice, cucumbers, water, and some veggies. I’ve tried this before but I get these insane carbo cravings. I’m addicted to carbos.

Maybe you might wish to avoid some meat too…
What do other peeps say?

I am a vegetarian. Well I eat eggs sometimes and every now and then I treat myself to organic sour cream. When I was younger I ate tons of meat, and now that I dont it seems like my meals dont fill me up.

Haven’t yet tried it myself but several sources (paper & human) recommend reishi mushroom tea. I’ve got the mushrooms - just haven’t gotten around to brewing 'em up.

Oh yeah, that sounds gooooodd… I love mushrooms, love tea, so you get both in one meal.
