I’m living in shenzhen china not far from hong kong now and have access to many great teachers in china, shuai jiao as well. i have been thinking of starting a special school that teaches shuai jiao to foreigners,a place where they could live and train for a set amount of time. if enought people show interest, can work on getting it going. let me know.
I would love to get to be a part of a live in shuai chiao program
send me a private message with an email and some contact info, if can get enough people can make it happen
the main coach will be Yao Honggang featured in my july/august article, MMA Shuai Jiao Connection 2010 issue of kung Fu tai Chi. He is shuai jiao fighter turned mma pro fighter http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjQyNzYwNDA0.html here is Yao fighting at 52:47Yao Honggang
here is a sample of what shuai jiao training is like in china, this is the school i trained at in beijing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcQcj40KkNI
and here is my first coach teaching some bao tui leg grabbing techniques http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwndwk8xer8
some more training http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB7GpPCsD9U

Sounds great, how many training sessions will there be per week? Is it every day?
What style of shuaijiao will you be teaching there?
There will be two, two hour session a day monday through friday with weekends off to sight see or do what ever. The type of shuai jiao being taught is beijing style, which is a quick and aggressive throwing art. There are warm up exercises, solo throwing drills, break falls, partner training, two kinds of sparring and traditional strength training in beijing shui jiao training.
How much would it cost for around a couple of weeks of training? How many trainers will there be? Is it just the foreigner practicing amongst themselves or is their training conducted by Chinese shuaijiao coaches?
Chinese shuaijiao coaches for sure, the price is up in the air right now, first thing is see if any people are actually interested in learning shuai jiao in a full time setting by professional shaui jiao coaches, here in beautiful southern china.
Hello
Hi, I am currently living in Fredericton Canada and have been looking for a grappling martial art. I have a back ground in judo, and have done some shuai jiao before, but nothing extensive. I am really interested in learning it, and I think a live in school would be cool. How many instructors will there be? What type of drills will we do? Like I said, I have only practice shuai jiao a little, so I only really know a couple of techniques, so how will we practice? And is there sparring?
One main coach with an assistant coach helping and some guest coaches coming to to do some teaching as well. The training consist of,warm ups ,break falls, solo throw drills, partner throwing drills, two forms of sparring and traditional strength training.
Also am working on getting my kung fu teach to be a part of the school, which means several classes a week for the full time students can choose a traditional kung fu system to study, my kung fu teacher knows many styles. I am currently study hung gar from him now.
