Length of Dummy arms?

What’s the correct length?

Traditionally I think it’s supposed to be 11", but I think that measurement was taken from Yip Man’s dummy and he was only 5’2"

I’ve seen other measurements up to 12"

What about someone like me (5’8")?

My custom made one is about 11 inches away from the dummy body… about the length of my forearm.

I have another longer arm for other purposes that I can substitute at times-

Mine are 24" total. 12" of arm and 12" of shank through the body. I’m 5’9" or 5’10", but this is pretty much the standard size. A lot of people do make 11" ones though, but I think I like 12 better (although I’ve never used 11" ones before).

How tall are you?

I’m 5’8". My dummy has 11" arms too.

forarm length

Its one of those amazing things about the human body, everybody has approximately the same length forarm.
I am 6’3" (193cm) - my forarm is ~12" (29 cm) from wrist to elbow, exactly the same size as my wooden dummy arms.
Check out a person who is shorter or taller than yourself, your forarms will be approxiamely the same size.
So by this all dummies should have 12" arms

Cheers

I think that forearm lengths vary. In any case my custom one
has 11 inch arms sticking out from the dummy and my older one is a HK Koo Sang dummy- which has 12 inch arms. He doesnt make dummies any more. many of his standard ones were 12 inch ones.
