Kung fu schools in New Jersey

For somebody that has no experience in CMA and can’t really tell the good from the bad and the legit pedigrees from the fugazis, a little help from the more knowledgeable members would be appreciated.

What are the quality schools (with links preferably) in the following region: western Union, Morris, southwest Essex, northern Somerset, northern Hunterdon counties?

The search area stretches further to the west than the east due to the relative ease of travel in that direction. Please, no schools in NYC. While it is close as the crow flies, it is far to expensive and logistically challenging to get there with any regularity.

Thanks in advance.

give list of the schools ur intested and i will tell u.

I know there are likely more, but this is all I know about. Feel free to add to the list.

Gary Carbone in rockaway (pretty far away)…no website I can find.

easy hangover and wu wei tai chi seem ok, u can try visit them. one caters to the Chinese community and the other has nice credentials. I mean I am assuming you are a normal human. u can always join random wing chun place.

Perfect. LMFAO. Nice typo dude. GREAT !

Whoops, I started that typo slide
East Hanover–>Easy Hanover–>Easy Hangover

I make no claims of being normal.

So are the other ones bunk, or are the two suggested simply better/more legit?

Thanks for the replies.

I don’t care who slipped up. Im using it. Thanks !

Its brilliant.

I just found mention online of New Jersey Shuai Jiao Club. I can’t find any contact information online. Does anybody know where they are based?

I also found San Shou Powerhouse somewhere in Westfield.

And Andy Lee in East Brunswick. http://www.taichiusa.com

Any information on these schools would be helpful.

Thanks again.

if its a real traditional group that’s offline then u have to search in real life in person.

but the fact that you saw the group photo of taichiusa looking like a stand of potatoes at farmers market and still mention them and ask if they are ok, then you might just wanna google random wing chun place and call it a day.

Bawang,

Actually i didn’t see a group photo on the website. I noticed the school linked off of an out of state school and posted it looking for information.

That’s the second time you’ve answered in a somewhat condescending manner. Have I posted something that angers you?

If you know about CMA, you are in a position to be helpful to somebody who does not. The way you responded and the shot you took at the people’s picture makes it seem like that’s not the way you want to go. I’m honestly confused why.

  • 700 posts on a kung fu wesite and states have no experience in kung fu
  • ask for school recommendation, gets school recommendation, one week later does not visit schools

Where in any of those posts did I claim knowledge of or training in Kung fu? Do you think everybody that posts here has a background in Kung fu? Do you treat all the non-Kung fu people this way? Is this only a stance you take on the internet or is this a life policy in general? If so, why would you bother replying?

As for follow ups- I didn’t really get what you meant by caters to Chinese. I also asked a follow up question which you never answered about your choices. On further research, the one in Clinton didn’t seem to align with my work schedule in the short term. I can’t call out of work to check it out. This might not always be the case as my work schedule is not without changes in pattern. I didn’t ignore your advice, I simply couldn’t make use of it. I also found more options which could have steered your choice or allowed any one of the many people on the forum to chime in.

If you have anything helpful to add I’d still be obliged. I meant no disrespect to you or the Kung fu community.

spending mental energy and effort in posting 700 messages on a kung fu form but not training kung fu is a warning flag. it shows high chance of you being a high inhibition, introverted, and immoral person. i answered briefly and to the point to give the benefit of the doubt.
