Wow!
Misfits are my fav’ too.
I gotta agree about the Glenn days too; but don’t like him much as a person tho.
.

Just some thoughts from an ignoramus.

Misfits

Wow, I never thought there would be a Misfits topic on here, haha. A friend of mine had a video of Danzig jumping on a guy at a concert, back in 82. The guy was hitting people in the pit, and Danzig just friggin’ leaped off the stage onto the guy and started pounding him, it was crazy.

In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about
life. IT GOES ON.

I have been weight training off and on for about 8 years…

I have studied weightlifting more than I actually train, since there is a lot of information to digest and it’s always good to know what is going on with your body and what can be dangerous or unproductive.

I would consider myself as knowledgeable as a personal trainer when it comes to actual lifts and form, and MORE knowledgeable than most personal trainers when it comes to most supplements, going down to the cellular lvl on what is happening when you work out, etc. I don’t claim to know everything but I have studied enough to know what I post. I will generally not make a post unless I’m sure of what I’m saying.

Oh and no I don’t have a personal trainer certification as it isn’t exactly a career I would be getting into. Certifications are only a piece of paper saying you pasted a test. Knowledge is what’s really valuable.

And yes almost all of the previous information is false and based on bodybuilding myths of which there are quite a few. I just don’t want newbie’s to read this and get the wrong idea about what to do. Feel free to post any other questions you may have. I don’t regularly come here but I check every couple of days.

Cool. Thanks for your response.

nospam,

I added on weight. Yeehaw! Man those sets are hard now. Still doing three sets, I’m just now making that face  . I’m getting closer to a pull up–almost half way (I do three sets of ten, one of these days, I’ll actually get all the way up).

Way to go Robin! Stick to the three sets for now and you will make great gains. The main thing is you are in there and doing it. Specifics can come later as your knowledge of weightlifting grows and you get to know your body’s responses/needs more.

I’m getting closer to a pull up–almost half way (I do three sets of ten, one of these days, I’ll actually get all the way up).

It took me quite a while to be able to do 1 set of pull ups (10 reps) fully and properly (lifting has proper form -smoothness, speed, cadence, mechanics, etc-similar to kata) let alone 3 sets!

I’d be interested to know your dietary habits?

nospam.

nospam,

My diet is quite healthy. I’m still mucking with the caloric side of it, because I’m working out more now with the weightlifting.

In general, I follow the American Dietetic Association’s recommendations. I actually get the full five fruits/veggies thing–making sure to have at least 2 dark green veggies. I fell into this diet because it’s the one that keeps me from going insane. I’ve tried others, and with this I get to have everything I like. I eat throughout the day–including nuts, and I make sure that I get enough fiber (going for real whole wheat, soy products and things). I have the full write up of my diet at home–that includes caloric, fat, protein, carbs.

From what I remember of the numbers, they’re as follows:

Calories: 1700 (roughly)
fat: 42 grams
protein: 81 grams
carbs: 240 grams (I believe)

I’m 5’4", around 120. With the weightlifting, now though, I think my numbers might have to change.

When’s dinner?

I’m 5’4", around 120. Hey Robin, not many a gal will be found so easily giving out their weight! hahaha She’s a contenda

So, do you have a food weakness? I know for me when I am being faithful to my food intake, I can be found chomping away on plain ripple potatoe chips and onion chip dip! Matter of fact…

spammajamma.

I know I’m one of a few who gives out her weight. But, it’s not like I can hide it. Besides, having weighed 175 when I graduated highschool (10 years ago), I still take pride in my low weight.

Food in general is my weakness. I know there are good meal replacement shakes out there, but I prefer to chew… CHOCOLATE, especially (though, I figured that would have been obvious). Sometimes, I just need cake.
