Is Posting The Same Question ON Other Forums A No NO

hey, i just want to make sure i am not breaking the rules. when i post, what is the best forum to use to get the most diverse responses,or do i post on all of them ?

respectfully, fanwoo

Post in the section that best fits your question. If your question is on Taiji don’t post it in the Wing Chun section.

It’s a free forum…

…so it really depends on the question. If your posting something like ‘where do I find a kung fu school in Nowheresville, TN,’ the main forum would be best. If you’re question is ‘where do I find a preying mantis school in Nowheresville, TN,’ the praying mantis forum would be best. If you’re posting something spammy, well, don’t.
Avoid posts like this.

Peter, or FANWOO, if you prefer…

If you are planning to ask about “Iron Hand” training, for example, you should read the small summary that describes each section and pick the one that sounds like what you’re looking for. Post your question once. If nobody answers and you see it drop down the list as it gets replaced by newer entries, you can “bump” it up the list by adding more info to your question or clarifying… but it is not considered good manners to do this more than once or twice. If nobody answers, then you may just have to accept that no-one else is interested.

As you can see from the thread that Gene linked to, the unwary or unsuspecting can occasionally be scared off by the reaction they recieve. To accurately judge the temperature of the water, you could try reading a few threads first.

I would suggest that you remember the good advice you were given on Budoseek!. It wasn’t all abusive, most of it was sound and sensible advice. Better luck this time…

scare off the unwary

the unwary have no place on a martial arts forum

FANWOO - the rules here are pretty commonsensical and therefore unspoken. for example, if had posted this question on all the forums, what do you think would have happened? good thing you didn’t. so you have the sense within you to post in the proper place, you just need to be in touch with it.
