when you hit reply, scroll down till you see attach file, click browse and highlight where it is saved on your computer , ie my documents, my downloads and then click submitt reply…thats all there is to it good luck

How does one manage to get an image to appear in the author column?

Those pictures are called avatars.
To put one you need to click on Use Control Panel on top of the screen and then Edit Options. Click on change avatar and choose one from your computer.
There is a maximum size for the file, but i can remember it now.
