Help needed

Hi there,
First time post, so please forgive if this is in the wrong spot.
I have been taking martial arts for a while now, but am currently looking for a teacher.

There is a local school here that teaches White Eyebrow. I’ve done some looking around on the net but can’t seem to find much information on it.

Can any of you folks out there who may practice this style offer some information.

Such as characteristics of stances, striking, ground work?, too hard on joints, too soft, great/ no good…

Whatever you have to offer would be much appreciated..
I just keep running into people who know nothing about the style accept that it is rare?

Thanks,
Mike

Where are you located?

Florida.

You can start with these…

http://www.aaron.net.au/pak_mei/history.html

I cannot vouch for any of these, but they do provide a variety of sites and schools which offer the style.

Mike,

You will be able to see Pak Mei performed and speak with other students of the style at the International Wushu Championships in Orlando, August 31st - September 1st.

Thanks for the info guys.
I’m checking those sites out. Seems pretty interesting.

Anybody out there that trains in this style like to offer anything?

MIKE

Pak Mei

Mike,

What do you want to know about Pak Mei in particular?

The first thing that you will notice is that Pak Mei is a lot more openly aggressive than other Chinese styles.

You mention about stances, striking, etc!

The stances in Pak Mei are high… this is to allow for agile movement in attack and defence. However it takes time to be able to intergrate a solid foundation with speed of footwork… This is achieved through practise, practise & more practise.

The breathing is the Heart and foundation of the Pak Mei system.

Striking is done suddenly and in co-ordination with the Pak Mei breathing.

If there is anything else you want to know, then just say!

Dave

Pakmei,
Thanks for the info. That’s some of the stuff I’ve been wondering about since I’ve never seen it, and it seems kinda mysterious.

Thinking I will give it a try! Sounds pretty cool.
