Great Lakes roll call

who’s going?

I’m going with 4 of my students who are fighting. 3 guys and 1 gal.

Our first full contact…hopefully we won’t get our asses handed to us too badly.

We’ll be up there friday evening early and staying at the Holiday Inn if anyone wants to meet up.

Oso, are you guys going to the early weigh-ins on Friday? Anyway, see you there.

That’s our intent. Leaving here around 8ish and it’s about 8 hours drive.

where you staying?

Ouch. I b!tch about the 2.5 hour drive to Dallas.

Yeah, that’s a long haul Oso. I’m staying at the Days Inn in Willoughby, about 20 minutes east of Euclid. I was going to stay at the Holliday Inn, but I couldn’t pass up the cheap rate. I only have a four hour drive, so that won’t be bad.

Friday Night Weigh Ins

For those of you wanting to weigh in Friday night… We will be there until 8 or 9PM setting up the event. If you get into town, or the hotel early, call John School = 216 431-4991 or my school 216 732-7757. I will see what I can do to help anyone get to the site for weigh ins.

Only 3 hours from me.

we drove, we competed, we drove…

i’m tired.

it was a good weekend. we did ok for a first time out: 1-0, 1-0, 1-1, 0-1 all in the beginner division.

not as many competitors as I had hoped to see out…only 4 women total…we have to do something about getting more women out to compete. only a total of 4 heavies but that’s par for the course as well.

very well run of course…props to Sifu Irvin, Sifu Gino and GM Wang and his son(?) for a good tourney (and all of the Shaolin Institute people for their behind the scenes work)

I just realized that was this weekend. I was suppossed to go with my old classmate Dwight and his Rockford crew.

Just too beat up this week from work to even know what day it was. Cr@p.

were they there? there was a tight crew of wing chun/clf guys from Chicago that I talked with a bit. They had a guy with them that DIDN’T talk and had that ‘look’ about him. He also had on a Serak shirt.
