Yeah, that’s a long haul Oso. I’m staying at the Days Inn in Willoughby, about 20 minutes east of Euclid. I was going to stay at the Holliday Inn, but I couldn’t pass up the cheap rate. I only have a four hour drive, so that won’t be bad.
For those of you wanting to weigh in Friday night… We will be there until 8 or 9PM setting up the event. If you get into town, or the hotel early, call John School = 216 431-4991 or my school 216 732-7757. I will see what I can do to help anyone get to the site for weigh ins.
We should be there some where around 6 PM ish. Give or take a little 30 mins because we will be back and forth bring shipments of stuff to prepare the tourney.
it was a good weekend. we did ok for a first time out: 1-0, 1-0, 1-1, 0-1 all in the beginner division.
not as many competitors as I had hoped to see out…only 4 women total…we have to do something about getting more women out to compete. only a total of 4 heavies but that’s par for the course as well.
very well run of course…props to Sifu Irvin, Sifu Gino and GM Wang and his son(?) for a good tourney (and all of the Shaolin Institute people for their behind the scenes work)
were they there? there was a tight crew of wing chun/clf guys from Chicago that I talked with a bit. They had a guy with them that DIDN’T talk and had that ‘look’ about him. He also had on a Serak shirt.
