What are the rules? Can you punch, kick, pin your opponent?
Grappling tournaments have no striking. Just throws, locks, chokes, and pins. Although pins aren’t generally a goal, but rather a transitional position on the way to sub.

Can a wrestler walk on to a tournament and compete with garpplers?
I doubt it seriously. It would depend on the rules but the wrestler would be at a serious disadvantage without the submissions. I have grappled several very good wrestlers and they dominate me positionally but lose in the long run.
