First Class

Well tonight was my first Kick boxing class. It went well every one seemed to have a great time and get a good workout. I started off with warm-ups and stretching then I showed them basic front round house and sidekicks. They already have a grasp on boxing style punching. We then did some shadow boxing and worked the bags for 8-3 minute rounds. For the last half of class we entered the ring for sidestepping and conditioning drills. I ended the class with Japanese style or “Dragon push ups” and about 500 various abs exercises.

After class one of the students a Judoka of over 10 years was showing me some really cool takedowns.

I have a question about a training regiment should you start off with light calisthenics and end off with heavier sets. With a medicine ball do you work your abs first then bounce it on them or bounce it then work the abs?
