Exactly what I was going to say. Either that or bagua’s equivalent guard posture.

Most important tactics/strategy? San ti is for harmonizing the structure of the body and creating a solid foundation in which to generate power through.

Brush knee and push…lots and lots of applications from this posture.

Greetings..

Postures are okay, but i think i prefer the transitions..

The most important tactic/stragety.. listening and natural movement.. so much ā€œTaijiā€ is lost in contrived un-natural body shapes and structural manipulations.. your body already knows its most efficient and effective structures.. now, apply principles to THAT structure..

Be Well..

PS: Reverse abdominal breathing.. find a good instructor…

at the moment, hunyuanzhuang. before that, was yangshenzhuang

My favorite stance is sparrow. I think the elbows and fan fingers are real cool. Sometimes I think I like snake, but I don’t like snakes, so I don’t go for snake stance.

What do you guys go for?

I think if I get really good one day, I’ll create a horse style based on the movements. Rather than just patting the mane, I think it has really good kicks and sometimes good bites, too. Horses are fast, but they can also move slow, so I don’t think it should be wierd.

I really like this thread, let’s keep it going!

rollback in yang, bc there are SOOOOO many apps that go with it… my favorite being, intercept a punch with rear hand then rollback then attack with rear knee or rear elbow to opponents hizzy, lol

My favs are the wedge of death, diagonal flying and the 4 corners.

Bagua’s Dragon posture.

When an attack comes, don’t be there.
