Don't have a lot of options with Avatar size...

This has to be the best pic of “Ryu” I’ve ever seen.

true indeed dawg

man i was lookin for something yesterday to no avail. 50X50 is maaad tight. the best i could do was 60X32…anyone got a place where i could gank an avatar??

I wanted vegeta pic but it was 75x75

If you have adobe Photo shop you can resize the size of your .JPEG’s, .BMP’s and use scanned pictures as well. you just have to change the image size. My avatar is actually a pic of me from a digital cam.
I know I’m a geek but hey that’s how you do it.

I’m sure you could find a number of freeware programs that will let you resize an image, and save it as a small jpeg, or gif to use for your avatar. I’m at work, so I’m just using Photoshop.

how do you do that? not very computer savy to say the least

Like this.

Okay

Hey Ryu, check it out d00d:

http://www.bidforpower.com/forum/misc.php?s=&avatcat=16&action=showavatars#jump

Some street fightin’ style avatars.
As you can see, that forum uses the same system as this, wich means that the maximum size of the avatars can be changed. When the admins are done with what they are fixing now, hopefully they will incrise the max size of the avatars

Anyway, lets vote for maximum size!!

I vote for 100x100.

Here’s a page with a list of FREEWARE graphics/image editing programs. I don’t know how good they are, you’ll have to download and find out for yourself. I’m sure they should have instructions included.

Image Editing Freeware

The Freeware stuff usually isn’t the best quality or most intuitive, but it’s free. You can also download Shareware, or Commercial demo versions from the same site (Download.com), but you’ll have to pay for those if you want to keep using them.

Someone on another thread mentioned a free program called “ACDSee”, which I downloaded and used to shrink my avatar picture. Just search for “ACDSee” on the web, you can download a free 30 or 45-day trial version and use that to shrink your image to whatever size you want.

they can also be bigger than 50x50 if you can get them under 20k. that’s how you do spiffy animations and whatnot.

Testing-…

I hope this one works..I’m tired of resizing

 Ok!

yep way to small, cant get detail or even see anything on most of them

I’m the ACDSee fan Nemo mentioned. I’ve been using the 3.1 program for more than a year now. You have an option to download these monthly ads…takes about a minute…and they “renew” the shareware. It’s got stuff better than the expensive “Picture It!” Microsoft program I was foolish enough to buy before finding it.
Not sure how the new 4.0 version works, but I’ve been really happy with 3.1.

wu_de36,
I tried to go beyond the 50 X 50 pixel limit…got an image that was 1,900 kb, but it wouldn’t work since it was bigger than 50 X 50. I don’t think anything bigger than 50 X 50 works.

I finally get to see my Avatar. What do you think. I love the new forum but the speed on my dial up is ****ing me off. D**n old tech…That sux, you have to click the photo to see it? That kinda takes away from it.

Even though…This is my

PHOTO
