Do you do Gum Gong Keun as part of your Hung Gar training

Our Hung Gar cirriculum includes the sets

  1. Jong Dah
  2. Gum Gong
  3. Ng Long (keun)

Any other lineages have these sets as part of the general cirriculum. By the way, in our lineage (village style) HEAVY emphasis is placed on the 5th brother fist set…how about yours???

I practice Gum Gong Yu Ga, sometimes called Gum Gong Kuen. This is only stretching / training / qigong.

There is a Gum Gong Kuen that was invented in some of the Shaw Bros. movies in the 1970’s as well.

Hey gwa, do you practice the wubei system of hung gar? I have heard that gum gong kuen (well in wubei it’s called gum gong sau, anyway) is one of the more advanced sets. Wubei hung gar is supposed to be attributed to the first song emperor, does this sound familiar?
