Hey Folks,
I’m sure there are many people here just like me that are addicted to cola, pepsi or coke or whatever and probably lots of coffee drinkers as well.
They say Caffeine weakens your bones and its really bad for you, Has anybody here that drink any or All of the above noticed any ill effects regarding thier training. If so what do you use to supplement it and make the damage not so bad. Has anyone who Loves cola ever Tried giving it up.. thats almost near impossible.

Soda (or pop, or whatever the hell you want to call it) often will dehydrate you as well…
I’ve never noticed any ill effects of weak bones, ligaments and tendons yes, bones no…![]()
I had a period where I would fit to the description ‘coke addict’.
I drank ALOT. I can truly say that I had bad stamina back then. I stopped blank cold. It was really frustrating but something I just decided to do. After that I only drank juice or water and I still do to this day. I feel no urge for coke at all so it’s ok to drink such if I eat out without it havin any effect on me. Wich is cool.
Gotta admit it. I love coke, but I haven’t noticed any harmful effects - yet (except for the occasional agony in my teeth).
nevermind the bones etc. the sugar is just plain bad for you, artificial energy boost followed by the crash…then you go for more.
I’ll attribute 5 of the lbs I lost to giving up soda for a year.

i used to drink a lot of coke but switched to sprite during chemo and now it’s the only type of pop i like. obizzel yo thirstizzels my nizzels.
Yep. I noticed my stamina impove when I quit soda and changed to decaf. Caffine in general is bad for you. It’s a diuretic. Dehydrates you quick. And yes, it was dificult to drop cafine.
Still miss it.
The whole caffeine may hurt your bones thing is a farse! It’s true they did some studies recently and that has been sort of disgarded. It is bad for your teeth and gums and some say your stomach as well. If you aren’t drinking soda you can get fat, apparently some of you guys have discovered this already.
I gave up soda but still drink tea in various forms.
I was told that caffeine can block the body’s ability to absorb some vitamins and minerals etc. If you drink a lot of caffeine it may hinder your intake of calcium etc and so affect your bone strength?
I gotta do at least a line just to get outta bed…er wait you guys mean cola. Yeah cola is good.

What about switching to the caffine /suger free colas?
They don’t taste as good as “the real thing” but when i stopped drinking the full fat stuff they helped .
Now im addicted to spartamine.
Still have to worry about the waisted callories and carbonation. Sugar free is better, but non-caffine alone still gives as muchas 170 extra calories that do you absolutely nothing. and carbonation sitts in your muscles and causes Runners Stitch in athletes.
Well i can name at least two ways to get the carbonation out of the body.
The extra calories? thats why i got me this tapeworm!

But it’s brown and fizzy.

Caffeine, in limited quantities, has been proven to be good for you. It makes your brain function a little better, which equals more alertness, faster reflexes, etc. It also helps you perform better for longer periods of time.
But it is also a diuretic, and you have to drink water. There are a lot of myths about the harmfulness of soda and caffeine. The real truth is that too much of either is a bad thing.
Soda has sugars and makes you fat. Diet soda has Nutrasweet which is worse for you than sugar. Coffee dehydrates you.
My personal suggestion is Jolt Espresso. Its a Cola/Coffee mix in a can! Its like opening a can of WHOOP-ASS! (I don’t believe in doing anything 1/2 way)

Caffine, suger and if the myths are to be beleived Bulls Testicles.
The more adventurous use it as a mixer with vodka.The caffine carries the alchohol into the bloodstream quick time! Get hammered on it and although you wish you could pass out the caffine keeps you widey wakey.
