Blue Eye Samurai | Official Trailer | Netflix
First forum review
Ready for some R rated jidaigeki anime? It’s remarkable that this is an American/Canadian production because it hits a lot of classic chanbara notes storywise and the animation is gorgeous. The sword fights are fun - super sanguineous - even more so than most because the contrasting color schemes. The dojo sword fight is glorious.
And there are peaches.
I’ve only watched the first episode but I’m all in for the rest of this series. It’s only 8 1-hour episodes.

LOL, I got the “peaches” reference.
I enjoyed the series, binged watched it on my last few days off.
I thoroughly enjoyed this show.
I loved this series. Especially (and a fan favorite) episode 5. I had begun watching it shortly after I had become interested in Japanese ghost stories to some extent due to a museum in my area that has an Asian section, and great books in the gift shop about Japanese culture. So I loved how they worked in the story of the female demon (Onryo) into the back story of Mizu. Also, the series makes a nod to Kill Bill in it’s use of music for the training sequence of the young Mizu. I have never watched anime/manga before nor do I really have time for any TV series but I’m glad I was curious enough to start watching this. My wife loved it too.
