Shaolin Temple Training
If you are speaking of the successor Shaolin Temple in Honan, then no one could have trained there as they do not accept students from the west. I believe you may be speaking of the Wu Shu Institute, which is nearby and is passed off as the “Honan Shaolin Temple” to westerners. Actually, the training there is very good, but you will not be trained by Shaolin Monks, only Wu Shu practioners wearing orange robes and yellow hoods. The food is poor by western standards, the living quarters very modest. But you will find the training regiment to be much more than you are accustomed to getting here.

I’ve written a lot about my trainig at Songshan Shaolin - most of it published in Kungfu Qigong. Use our search function to find out more http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/search.html
I was trained by monks in traditional Shaolin kungfu. I did take a few wushu lessons - most of the teachers and coaches are wushu instructors - but the warrior monks are traditional (although the ones that demo frequently punch up their demos with a little wushu.) The non-monk teachers might were robes for demo, but mostly they wear sweats.
Watch Kungfu Qigong, we have a lot of new Shaolin stuff coming soon…
