I posted this on the Northern Mantis section but I know that this forum gets MUCH more traffic and decided to post it here too:

Does anyone know anything about this school:

I have a buddy who lives near there and is interested in studying. The site does not emphasize their 7 Star training. Though a web site should never be used to define the worth of a school they made a comment which I found suspect:

“7 star praying mantis which is an offshoot of the Shaolin system. This style employs upper body hand work of the mantis,leg work of monkey style, and additional components from 17 other Shaolin systems. Although 170 forms exist in mantis kung fu today, when originally developed there were only 3. We focus on a small portion of mantis forms in our curriculium.”

Does this seem odd to you guys?

I admit I know VERY little about mantis myself so any help would be appreciated.
