7 star in Orlando area?

I’m interested in broadening my martial arts experience. A friend recommends 7 star. My only MA experience is Chung Moo Doe (I know, I know, no flames please!)Wah Lum is the only authentic Kung Fu that I know of in this area. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I don’t think there is any 7-Star in Orlando. The only Mantis I know of is Wah Lum (which is a really good forms school). Check down at East Coast Martial Arts Supply on Colonial (Hwy 50) and see what they say (Ask for Carl). Maybe a school moved in since I’ve been there. You can learn some great Northern Style Basics and Forms (both empty hand and weapons) at Wah Lum. Stop in for a visit and watch a class. Also, this weekend there is probably some kick butt lion dancing and kung fu going around town from Wah Lum for Chinese New Year. Stop in and get their itinerary.

Hope this helps.

7 star mantis

no 7 star in orlando. but there is wah lum, three treasures, and o mei in otown. personally i prefer wah lum. wah lums forms are extremely good and s a good blend of northern mantis and tam tui. you might also check in with tom turcotte if wah lum isnt your choice.

O-Mei Kungfu/Wushu.. is a good school with great forms, basics, etc. Wah Lum is also popular. I suggest you stop in to watch/try class and decide what’s best for you. If you need info: www.wahlum.com or for O-Mei (407) 339-8336.

O-Mei

I haven’t heard of this school before. Who’s
teaching at this school?

O-MEI

Master Luo Li - He’s known for his eagle claw form. He was also a member of the National Arts Team of China and won the men’s all-around National Championship on two occasions (1989 and 1991). The school’s been open for a few months. The official “grand opening” is Feb 10th. Everyone’s welcome, so come if you’re interested.

Wah Lum Tai Chi

What branch of Tai Chi does Wah Lum practice at the goldenrod school?

Where is the O-Mei scool located?

We’re all Students of Life

The school is located on US17-92 near SR436 (across from the Jai-Alai - in the Winn Dixie shopping plaza). The exact address is: 7800 S. Highway 17/92 Suite 132, Fern Park, FL 32730. From I-4 EXIT 48 (436/Altamonte Springs) and head towards 17/92, turn right onto 17/92 and the plaza entrance is about 3 lights down on the right). If you need further assistance, feel free to call the school or e-mail.

Jimsky! it’s about time you got on the train.I knew it had to be you by just looking at your name. It’s just so obvious.Better luck next time.

“Always be ready”

Hey Andrew. Yep.. it’s me. Good to hear from you. Yep.. it’s pretty obvious. Next time I’ll make post from a new user name that’s less obvious.. how’s “taichibob123?” heh. Talk to you later. Keep up with your training!

Grand Opening

When does it get started? Guess I’ll have to sneak out to get there in time.

It starts at around 2:00pm. Also, the school is not directly accross from Jai Ali, but a just little bit further down.. on the 4th light (not 3rd as posted earlier). There will be a demonstration and a taichi/chi kung workshop… etc. Hope to see you there!

Correction

Sorry for the confusion… the plaza is at the 3rd light (just making sure so nobody passes the entrance). It shouldn’t be more than about a 1/2 mile from 436 so keep an eye out when you see a yellow auto shop (AutoZone?).
