3-D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy

This reminds me of when True Legend was boasting that it was to be the first 3D kung fu flick. I’m pretty confident that there have been 3D porn flicks before.

HONG KONG (AFP) – A group of Hong Kong filmmakers have started shooting what they claim will be the world’s first 3D pornographic film, a report said Sunday.

The 3.2 million-US-dollar ‘3-D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy’, set for release in May, has already generated interest in a host of Asian film markets, as well as Europe and the US, the Sunday Morning Post reported.

Loosely based on a piece of classical Chinese erotic literature, The Carnal Prayer Mat, the movie will star Japanese adult actresses Yukiko Suo and Saori Hara, the Post said.

The film chronicles the story of a young man who, after being introduced to the erotic world of a duke, realises his ex-wife is the love of his life and features “orgies, swinging and some very graphic sex scenes”, the paper said.

Producer Stephen Shiu acknowledged that censors would likely block the movie’s screening in mainland China, a key market for Hong Kong filmmakers.

“(But) we are almost closing deals with some markets including Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and some pay TV channels in Hong Kong,” Shiu told the paper.

Italian director Tinto Brass has announced he would produce a 3D remake of his 1979 erotic film Caligula, while Hustler plans to release a pornographic spoof of 3D science fiction film Avatar, the top-grossing movie of all time which has earned some 2.7 billion US dollars worldwide since its release.

Suddenly I don’t want to see this…

3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy trailer

I’m just thinking that getting 3D splattered in a porn flick won’t be at all entertaining.

The Avatar sex paraody was in 3-D and I think there were a few attempts in the 80’s and 90’s, no?

Yukk!! I mean Greetings,

The shot of the key going into the keyhole will be as hardcore as it gets.

mickey

Ok, now I want to see it again, but only in 3D

Looks like there will be lots of stuff flying about in a totally cheesey way - just was 3D was meant for.

China 3D Digital Entertainment Ltd , the Hong Kong firm behind 3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy 3D, has scored a string of pre-sales within Asia-Pacific on Due West: My Sex Journey .

Buyers include South Korea’s Sonamu Pictures , Thailand’s M Pictures, India’s Lakshaya Entertainment and, for Australia and New Zealand, Hong Kong-based Topkey International Investment Ltd .

China 3D says it is close to finalising further contracts in Taiwan and Singapore.

The film is an erotic comedy that is an adaptation of a popular internet novel. The film was written, directed and stars Mark WU and is set for delivery imminently. It will get its key Hong Kong release in 2-D and 3-D on 20 Sep.

China 3D expects Due West to be given a category III rating in Hong Kong, which normally limits the size of audiences. But for 3D Sex And Zen, the restricted rating acted as a beacon for mainland Chinese patrons who crossed the border to watch it.

The company is also preparing Sex And Zen II: 4D Sexecution , which will use seat-vibrating technology. The story follows two Japanese men who sneak into ancient China, causing havoc and engaging in a sex marathon.

Due West: Our Sex Journey 3D

This didn’t feel significant enough to warrant its own thread. Coincidentally, I was talking to a kung fu brother recently, who had never ventured into the sordid sop****ric world of Chinese sex comedies. My fav line in this is “Acquiring a sheen lacking when the actors are clothed”

Due West: Our Sex Journey 3D
Opening as a reasonably amusing “American Pie”-like account of a randy Hong Kong teenager’s sexual awakening, “Due West: Our Sex Journey 3D” gradually becomes flaccid.

Opening as a reasonably amusing “American Pie”-like account of a randy Hong Kong teenager’s sexual awakening, “Due West: Our Sex Journey 3D” gradually becomes flaccid as its protag enters adulthood and seeks fulfillment in bawdy houses on the mainland. A parade of buxom beauties in birthday suits guarantees robust domestic and regional B.O. for this China Digital Entertainment production, but pedestrian scripting and direction make it unlikely to outperform the company’s 2011 hit, “3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy.” Pic opened Sept. 20 in H.K., Australia and New Zealand. North American release details are pending.

Like “Sex and Zen,” “Due West” can expect to attract auds from mainland China, where, owing to censorship issues, the film is not skedded for release. In a novel marketing approach recalling bygone days of gender-segregated, exploitation-movie tent shows, some Hong Kong cinemas will be offering “women only” screenings.

The source material is a popular series of Internet stories by pseudonymous author Xiang Xi Murakami Haruki that satirized conservative Hong Kong society while drawing attention to the sex industry in nearby mainland city Dongguan.

Narrating the story of his life thus far, twentysomething Frankie (Justin Cheung) first appears as the nerdy teenage son of a disciplinarian mother (Lily Ng) and subservient father (Tony Ho). Driven by raging hormones and supplied with adult viewing material by cool buddy Wang Jing (Sit Lap Yin), Frankie feeds his sexual fantasies via Japanese adult-video star Jessica Kizaki before losing his virginity in a drunken haze that ruins a budding romance with nice girl Zoey (Mo Qi Wen).

The humor here is more cheeky than raunchy, with the notable exception of a very funny gross-out scene in which Frankie’s onanistic activities wreak havoc at a family mahjong game. Laughs are in much shorter supply once Frankie enters his 20s and finds himself stuck in a sexually frustrating relationship with clean-freak Zeta (Celia Kwok). Reunited with Wang Jing (now played by Gregory Wong) and egged on by gas-bag co-worker James (helmer and co-scripter Mark Wu), Frankie winds up in Dongguan bordellos, where he beds a succession of beautiful working girls including Fish (Jeana Ho) and Celia (Daniella Wang).

Screenplay by Wu and Lam Fung at least attempts to wedge some analysis of male-female relationships between bedroom bouts, but Frankie’s commentary on the meaning of his frisky behavior and longing for true love has a bland, heard-it-all-before ring to it. Thesping is adequate, even though the cast consists almost exclusively of models with limited acting experience, but the name of the game here is naked flesh, and the pic keeps its promise with a bountiful supply of bodacious bodies.

Acquiring a sheen lacking when the actors are clothed, Howard Cheung’s stereoscopic photography of intimate activity shows the spectacle in simple, effective wide shots and avoids disorienting closeups that helped kill off the first wave of 3D skin pics in the '70s. Other technical elements are OK.

If this has a Bollywood dance number, I’d totally see it.

3D Kamasutra gets into position

Production News

Indian producer / director Rupesh Paul has begun production on internationally-targeted, erotic drama Kamasutra 3D.

The largely English-language film stars Sherlyn Chopra (aka Mona Chopra, pictured), the model, singer and actress who achieved notoriety by becoming the first Indian to pose nude on the cover of Playboy magazine.

Paul, who last year directed Saint Dracula 3D, also has a cast of established actors including Naseeruddin Shah, Randeep Hooda, Milind Soman and Veena Mali in a story which more closely follows Ananga Ranga, than the original 14th century Kama Sutra text.

Where the Kama Sutra was conceived as a guide to seducing 30 kinds of women, the 14th century Ananga Ranga teaches a man how to make his wife into 30 different women.

Filming is now underway in native stereoscopic 3-D using locations in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

“It is very unlikely that we will be able to release the film in India, given India’s propensity to cry scandal over so many issues,” Paul told Film Business Asia.

Nevertheless, the film is backed by five Indian firms who view the production as a viable venture in international markets. Paul is at the American Film Market looking to sign up an international sales agent.

Asia has seen the production of a small handful of 3-D erotic movies. While the first was a little noticed Korean title, the most successful to date was 3D Sex and Zen — Extreme Ecstasy (3D) produced by Hong Kong’s Stephen Shiu Jr and his China 3D Digital Entertainment. The company recently followed up with Due West: My Sex Journey () and is now preparing Sex And Zen II: 4D Sexecution (.)
