To All Martial Arts Aficionados,

We are pleased to extend a warm invitation to you to attend the 14th Annual Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Championship. Our event will be held on May 17, 2025, in the spacious South Hall of San Joses McEnery Convention Center, California. In 2024, the Tiger Claw Elite Championship drew more than 2,000 competitors and spectators from around the world.

The Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Championship is under the umbrella of the Tiger Claw Elite Championships which also includes the Tiger Claw Elite Taekwondo Championships. Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Championship will include Traditional Kung Fu, the Shaolin Games, and Wushu), Two Showcase Championships, Award Presentations and Masters Exhibitions.

This year, we are reverting to a one-day event. Once again, the Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Championship will host an official Shaolin Kung Fu Games under the auspices of the original Shaolin Temple of China and the Shaolin North American Association. Additionally, the The Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Championship will be cooperating with UC Berkeleys longstanding Chinese Martial Arts Tournament; CMAT will be overseeing the Wushu division.

The special Showcase championships are the WildAid Tiger Claw Championship and the LED Saber competitions. The WildAid Tiger Claw Championship is a benefit for WildAid, a non-profit global organization that seeks to preserve endangered species in the wild; All proceeds from this event will be donated to WildAid. The LED Saber Championship is under the auspices of Terra Prime Light Armory, the national governing body for lightfencing. All Showcase Champions receive unique prizes and special attention in our post Championship coverage.

The Tiger Claw Elite Championship has substantial media exposure on local and international news, as well as on KungFuMagazine.com. Coverage will be featured on KungFuMagazine.coms substantial social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Our missions are to promote a balance of physical and mental well-being through martial arts; to excel martial arts skills of American athletes for world competitions; and to promote communication and to nourish friendship among participants of these arts in the world. We believe your participation will be a great contribution to cross cultural understanding between China, America, and the rest of the world.

Happy Shaolin Temple Day!

Friday March 21st marks Shaolin Temple Day, Established in 2004 in California, Shaolin Temple Day is celebrated by Shaoliin schools and practitioners across the United States. It gives us great pride to announce that The Tiger Claw Elite Championships will be hosting our 2nd Shaolin Kungfu Games under the auspices of the original Shaolin Temple in Songshan, China. This is the second year in a row that TCEC has hosted the Shaolin Kungfu Games. Last year was the first time the Shaolin Kungfu Games were held in the USA.

This year, we are reverting to a one-day event. We will have over 300 divisions for Wushu, Kung Fu, Shaolin, First Timer and Team competitions, as well as our showcase WildAid Tiger Claw Championships and Tiger Claw May the Fourth LED Saber Championship. I was by the office yesterday for another of many prep meetings. Everything is on track for TCEC 2025.

The awkward thing is that there are two local tournaments happening the following weekend: The inaugural Gold Mountain Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Championship which will be the very first tournament held in SF Chinatown ever & the Golden State tournament. I wish I could attend that Gold Mountain tournament but I’m already committed to working a music festival that weekend - it’s Memorial Day weekend.

Last year, the Tiger Claw Elite Championships fell on May the Fourth, the unofficial holiday of Star Wars fans. We celebrated by holding the First May the Fourth LED Saber Championships, a showcase division where the winner was awarded a custom made lightsaber. It was wildly popular with competitors donning full cosplay uniforms and Grandmasters posing with lightsabers.

On May 17th, we’re doing it again! Join us for the 2nd Tiger Claw LED Saber Championships at the San Jose Convention Center. Held in cooperation with Terra Prime Light Armory, the U.S. national governing body for Light Fencing, here’s your chance to show the galaxy that you are the chosen one. This is an open forms competition - anyone can compete!
