Chirstmas greetings!
Ok I need some advice on buying a woodendummy. Can anyone give my a list of things to look for ie: what wood it should be made from, build, etc .. and what sort of price to pay.
I’ve seen a lot of different styles and prices so it’s getting a little confusing
Plus my Sifu isnt around at the moment ..
Also I’ve read a little about a type of oil that you massage your hands with after using the dummy which help toughen the skin, is there any truth in this? or is it even a good idea?
Hope you all had a good xmas ![]()
wooden dummys ![]()
i got mine at www.woodendummy.net
it was rather expensive, but its extremely nice and i really like it ![]()
i got the corner stand too, because i couldnt bolt it to the walls (and that works ok… i’d still rather have it bolted down tho)
anyways thats a good place to look, if price isnt much of a problem
as to the oil you rub on yourself after using the dummy i assume your refering to dit da jow… ask your sifu!
if not im sure a few other people on the list can help you with that
peace
travis
Thanks TjD
I’ll check that out, Yup it was dit da jow I’m reading about it at the moment, but if anyone else has any input on these sujects please add your comments. ![]()
Sec, if you do a search on this forum and the other kung fu forums on dit da jow, you should find lots of stuff has already been written about it, including recipes given a while ago by Sihing73 on how to make it yourself if you’re interested.
I asked this question about a month or so ago. If you keep searching the back threads I’m sure you’ll find it. I found it very helpful, as a few people pitched in about exactly what you need for a personally tailored WD.
