Whippinghand Poll Deleted?

Why???..anyone have any ideas?

maybe because it wasn’t realistic

according to Editor Gene, Whipping Hand was the subject of countless emails sent to kungfumagazine, yet the poll was closed after only 27 votes (Mugabe-style!), with 15 against WH’s banishment and 12 for.

Maybe what the Forum Refs should do is request to have a Kung FU Whining forum opened up so we can get out of the gossip circle and back to wing chun?

red5angel is correct

Roy,
I deleted the poll because the last 7 or 8 posts on that thread were between two individuals who weren’t even discussing the topic at hand, they were literally going back and forth discussing how inbred each other were, how one had slept with his sister, etc, etc. The poll had already ended, and nobody had commented on the topic for several days, the thread was already dead. The only reason it hadn’t fallen off the forum already was the above mentioned discussion of genetic impurity. I didn’t see any reason to allow it to be a vehicle for such absurdity, so I deleted it.

I never got to the poll…but I vote against whipping hand being band…

hey sandman
that was between me & sunkuen & was only in fun(we both pm’d each other for a laugh-we were both joking nothin’ more) it wasn’t insulting to anyone yet you deleted it.
if you wish to say that it was dead & not looked at for a few days that is fine.
while your at it why don’t you go back 3-4 pages & start deleting all those topics that aren’t being used anymore.
there is so much dribble that could be wiped yet you choose to wipe what YOU dislike or see as useless only.
now there is some fair & quailty moderating for ya.
what’s it like to play god, hey sandman?
you rarely even post an answer to anything yourself anymore yet you still feel you need to exert your athority by leaving some of us who may have a bit sicker sense of humour with no fun.
i didn’t see in the rules that you weren’t aloud to have fun or that you had to share the same sense of humour as the moderator.
also, please don’t come back with that wasted bandwidth garbage as there is alway a load of things that could go.
vts

Thank You Sandman for your prompt and professional response. Greatly appreciated.

Rene ritchie,

I notice many of the things you say on here are pure PR purposes and to be politically correct.

You refrain from your true opinions..but hey who blames ya.

maybe he posts his true opinions under a different name!! maybe rene was whippy  lol

rene’s a good guy. very diplomatic.

Hey Cha Kuen,

I don’t refrain from my true opinions, I simply refuse to be another ignorant anonymous internet loud mouth who spouts off whatever they think they know without a moment of reflection or a consideration of alternate views, or engages in pointless petty personal attacks and politcal manipulations to try to make up for whatever it is they’re lacking in the real world.

Discussion and argument are arts unto themselves, and are saddly missing among the tools of many in our generation. Any idiot can have an opinion. Serious, mature people spend time to develop informed, considered opinions and balanced perspectives.

Doesn’t WCK teach us about the value of the center and the danger of extremes?

(PR that!)

I thought Kung Fu Tse (Confucious) taught that

Hi AD,

Great ideas tend to get recycled. 8)

(Of course, the analects also mention something about small people when kept far or close, don’t they? )

Rgds,

RR

Rene

Are you referring to “da ren bu ji xiao ren guo” (real men forgive/forget the mistakes of little people) or “Objects in the mirror appear smaller than they really are”?

AD,

Nope. The one that ends “and when brought close become insolent”

Rgds,

RR

not sure i know that one

Don’t mistake my tone, RR, I am just joking around. Thanks for the advice on the JOW, btw. Smell of the stuff gives me the willies and makes my pet *****.

Interesting idea, though, about things being brought closer becoming insolent. Does the object itself change or its perception?

Hi AD,

I wasn’t referring to you (I’ve enjoyed your posts thusfar), but to the general state of communication where, when people are brought together, the small ones become problematic.

No worries on the jow. It can smell horrible. I also get disturbed seeing some of the stuff floating in the jars (like snakes, water beetles, sometimes a claw…)

I’m not sure if people change so much as become more fully themselves. The small person (of course, we don’t mean vertically challenged here  when feeling protected by closeness, can unleash all sorts of things they were forced to bottle up before.

I find the annalects very interesting (though they’re a triffle sexist  but I prefer the Dao De Jing.

Rgds,

RR

I am sorry…

But I must say… nobody is small. We are all great people, with much potential, no matter how frustrating some may be sometimes. The key is to look inside oneself to find compassion for those who are unable to express themselves as peacefully as those who do.

Just like tan sau, bong sau, lap sau, kwan sau, jit sau, gan da, fuk sau, wu sau, biu sau. They are all connected to each other. Some may be weak and others strong. Yet all are necessary.

Sabu,

We’re all small sometimes, in some ways, in some places. Otherwise there’d be no room for growth.

(Either that, or get in a time machine, journey back to antiquity, and tell Confusious to stuff it! )

Rgds.

RR

moon’im!
