I have two aquaintences that used to study this style. Neither has studied any other form of WC so they don’t really know what makes it different. Any ideas?
From now on, enemies who are associated with terrorist activity will not cohabit the globe with the United States of America. William F. Buckley
The differences that stood out for me was Kung Fu life.
A term used often in our family.
You can truly understand the nature of Ving Tsun through Kung Fu Life, not just the scientific street fighting method, but the true nature of the style.
That, to me, was the biggest difference from other WC schools.
Sigung Moy Yat taught Ving Tsun the way it was taught to him by Yip Man.
Sigung Moy Yat always told me to “keep it pure, don’t poison it.”
I got the message!!!
I teach the classes separate.
The Theories and principles are the same.
Wing Chun is Pac sau and then some.
Jeet Kune Do is Pac sau with the hip and then some.
Not that much of a difference:0}
I’ve checked out a few other styles recently. The primary difference I have observed is something I would describe as depth.
From what I have seen the Moy Yat family spend alot more time on each step in the learning proccess, each drill, each part of the form, and then applies each new item in the broadest possible context.
As opposed to other styles I have seen lately, which will train a given technique with a specific application in mind, and leave it at that.
Hi Roy
I was just trying to make a point without giving to much details.
I always try to keep things simple and direct.
I was trying to say, that there isn’t much of a difference in the way I teach both styles.
