But the dude provide no evidence or his fights, etc. So typical keyboard warrior.

So, if a guy never participated on sanctioned events he is a keyboard warrior?
I understand why you are doing this and that is your choice but I do not see the point. I never boxed in sanctioned events yet I boxed for 4.5 years and had probably well over 200 hard spars/fights. Put that in context. None were more than a total of 6 minutes long. I never had a book. In my area boxing was almost dead in the early 80’s. But there were a few places one could go to learn and fight. My High School was one. There was another HS that also had a program and they were better for the most part. Had more money invested in the program. Then there was all of 2 boxing gyms if you could find them in my city. 2 ! Karate was everywhere. TKD and Kung Fu not so much but a couple of those school were around. I was ITF and we sparred hard and could punch the head. Yet, I have no real record. Isshin Ryu was the predominate art in the 80’s and I took that too.
Persoanlly, if Sanjuro_Ronin said he did that, I believe him. He may have personal reasons to not post his real name and such. I myself value privacy and decide who if any get to know my real name and possibly my address. But you need proof and I understand that. I personally do not worry so much about a persons history/abilities. If they want to hang out and participate at whatever level they can, it is cool by me. Tell the truth, tell stories, lie for all I care. I really do not care either way. Most of us if we really looked at ourselves would realize we probably are not very good. That does not mean we are without skills and abilities. Just that, most of us our levels are not at any sort of pro level in regards to fighting. I sure as **** know I was not ever close and I sucked as far as I am concerned and I did really good in the ring but only at a local level and almost all of those guys sucked too as far as I am concerned.
Again, I believe him and have chatted with him and he is a nice guy as far as I am concerned. I believe very much he is sincere.
Ps. Back then in my area there was less than a 100 total guys boxing. I was small. Weight classes were basically not enforced. I generally boxed guys outweighing me by 25 lbs. I was about 120-125. The largest guy I boxed was almost 200 and he was just to big to box but I stayed in there the full 3 rounds. I sucked as a boxer. I was a banger and that does not work as good with bigger than you guys. By the way only 2 guys went to Golden gloves from my area that I know of. One guy became a world champ by the way. He was a year older than me. I never got to see him or face him.
His name was Charles Murray.
Badden Street
The place was around as long as I remember. Like in the video below. I never actually boxed in a real ring. Most of us were about as good as what you see in the video. I don’t know this kid or anyone aside from a 20 year old kid at a local store that boxed for 2 years.
I have no idea the state of boxing in Rochester except it is only a bit larger than when I was a kid. Basically it is still dead here.
I will say this, for the most part the boxers here are undisciplined. At least in my time and I am sure it has not changed. We all smoked pot. Did cocaine. Got drunk on a daily basis. Skipped road work for the most part but always did our cals and weights and worked the bags. And all of us were more than willing to glove up with **** near anyone and try and take another guys head off. But I still think we sucked! I know I did.

You’r obviously new(ish) and not very bright, so, a recommendation from your (for now) friendly neighborhood moderator:
Don’t make comments about things you have no knowledge off, it keeps you from looking like a tool.
IF you have an opinion, please share it.
If you disagree with someone else’s opinion state WHY and don’t say idiotic and low brow comments like you did, it makes you look like a tool.

Kids…
CABA (Canadian Amateur Boxing Association) has been around since 1969.
If anyone fought in Olympics trials, the Olympics themselves, pan am games, then their records are available.
For pro boxers, it overseen by the same orgs that run the big fights.
At a provincial level, each province has their own organization and then there is like House level which is at community centers and other non sanctioned outfits which are loosely governed by CABA rules.
I boxed at juvenile level in Orioles CC boxing club in the late 70’s in Winnipeg.
Good luck trying to find any extant records from that time on boxing matches, wrestling etc.
Amateur organizations that are not Olympic or pan am level don’t tend to be so meticulous with record keeping unless someone has gone on to winning a golden gloves, silver gloves, provincial championship under CABA etc.
Amateur records are not a valued thing. Try and find a record of how you did in a Dragon Cup Tournament or some tournament or another put on by this association or that. In Martial arts, particularly Asian martial arts, the record keeping, if there is any at all is atrocious because most tournaments are about raising a little money for a cause, friendship, networking etc. It’s not so much about individual successes beyond the day of the tourney.
I’ve been in plenty of tourneys and I’d be buggered if I had to provide proof beyond some worn out photo someone else took etc. It’s just not something that is vigorously recorded.
Just saying.

This came up when I was at Bullshido and I tried to get my record and simply couldn’t.
Nothing new for guys that actually fought in the 80’s and 90’s UNLESS they were pros.
But every guy that has fought in the 80’s and 90’s knows this.
I don’t bother addressing issues that I have addressed in the past, don’t have the time nor desire to justify myself of common sense to people that clearly don’t have a clue.

Funny yet you give it big to others in same situation.
Perhaps you shouldn’t throw stones.

So now you delete my posts?
Talk about unfair moderation.
Yet when you talk crap about others, it’s acceptable.
