HI! Just wondering if your schools have various stuff that they do for Chinese New Year? Any celebrations, parties, lion dances, etc.
We are doing a Lion Dance at Jacksonville, Oregons Chinese New Year Celebration. Should be pretty cool! But, I am just curious what everyone else is doing as well!
We are doing a great big multicultural excibition down at the darling harbour Chinese Gardens. My sifu has organised it but there will be many cultures there all showing off there stuff.
Food, drink, dance, kung fu, lion dance and many other things.
Everyone is welcome and its on the 16th of Feburary so if anyone is in Australia at this time please pop on down.
You only have to pay the entrance fee for the chinese gardens so its dirt cheap too:D
As Yuan Tan is my birthday i will probly start the whole week of by gettin ****ed up real good, then i’ll probly do the same on wed, thurs, fri. Fu(k it im just going to get mortal every day.
I’m ethnic hardscrabble Taiwanese and was raised in a way that placed work above all else in life (including life itself), so I DON’T celebrate Chinese New Years or any other holiday.
Every day is a holiday to me.
But when I open my school, I’ll try to think of something for my AMERICAN students. Some of the folks I know who’ll be joining are going to make my life miserable if I DON’T do it!
Going to see a Chinese opera, some demos, some lion dances in the afternoon, then shirfu an myself are going to do a demo somewhere else, don’t really know all the details yet.
dunno. maybe get my chinese roommate to whip up some mad shît for dinner and drink some tsingtao. it’s a tuesday, so i’ll be working all day and training all night. i’ll need some fuddha for my buddha when i get home.
We’re going to watch this kung fu movie called Golden Spider and then we’ll go to a chinese restaurant. Can’t do anything else because our lion dance team haven’t even learned to play the drums yet
