It seems that I seem to be having a problem with my stretching and stances especially the ones that require me to go down extremely low.
The problem has been occuring for some time it seems that when I practice my Internal MA that the undergarments that I wear make it extremely difficult for me to reach my full potential in the stretch or stance work, I normally wear Mens Boxers I have tried larger sizes and they dont seem to work, and lately I tried the athletic supporters with the cup, which are extremely uncomfortable for me also, and they too have prevented me from reaching my full potential in the stretch or stance work.
I was advised by a fellow MA who also does internal but he practices at a different school suggested just wearing Mens Briefs as long as no full contact sparring is involved.
What do you guys think can anyone help me out with a good suggestion? ![]()
I’m loyal to the boxers. Cotton, relaxed fit. Plenty of room, not too much bunching-up to speak of. Maybe it’s the brand/quality of boxers that’s the source of your problem. I’m currently sporting a pair of Jockey’s and their doing me just fine.
Something just occurred to me. I’m discussing my underwear with strangers over the internet. This is new territory.
No disrespect intended!
Just that it seems that I have tried everything and that is why I decided to ask the advise of fellow martial artists.
hehe
Its all about the boxer briefs… =p

I’m with Losttrak on this one.
Well, not WITH him.
But like… damn, you know what I mean.
I wear boxers
they work for me, maybe your pants are too tight. You could also try getting some that are shorter.

It looks as though the boxers have it. Surrender now, before anyone posts pics.

I am surprised no troll has come on saying he fights “COMMANDO.” Though I think the Geneva Convention outlawed such things.

I’ll say go with briefs, whenever I try to wear boxer they always restrict my leg movements because I’ve got really wide thighs. You could also try “boxer briefs”, which are made out of the same material as briefs but they are cut more like boxers. I like those as they give more support around the legs but still allow for flexibility…

I go for briefs when I train. I was always told to wear a snug pair of underwear when exercising otherwise you can damage yourself ![]()

lol sorry, this thread was funny,
freeballing in a tux gets u a fine around here (altho this has nothing to do with training, its true)
i prefer boxer-briefs… they hold the "goods in place best and hug the leggs for comfort…=)

You know, every time I try to respond to this one, my words seem smug and sexually suggestive.
But to answer the question, I say go with briefs. I just can’t stand to have anything wrapped tight around my thighs, except a woman’s legs.
See? I told you so!
