I visited that club in Hanoi…

The Combat Wing Chun page is actually of the Yip Man lineage rather than the Vietnamese Yuen Chai Wan one. Vietnam Wing Chun usually includes Thu Dau Quyen (Siu Nim Tau), Five Animal Fists, and 108 loosely connected movements (kind of like hong jong, or the dummy set without the dummy there).

Does anybody here practice Vietnamese Wing Chun?

The page, written in Vietnamese, details techniques of the Vietnamese Wing Chun system. I found the weapons sections most interesting. The writer writes that the Vietnamese Wing Chun staff possesses only six points, and does not have six and a half as the Hong Kong style. The writer also mentions that in Vietnamese Wing Chun, there are three ways of practicing with the knives- as a pair, one knife and a shield, and just one with a long handle.

Most interesting is the part about the sword (kiem).

Here he talks about the six basic principles of sword fighting. I’m not quite sure what the six mean as they are in Han Viet- Chinese words in the Vietnamese language. He describes the method in which the master used to teach- disciples would have to be able to grasp six principles, as well as movement and changing, before gaining real experience.

In a past thread, I asked about the Weng Chun sword. Their sword technique also possesses six basic techniques. However, I criticized how the other hand is used to brace the sword.
