Troll, who thought this up?

Where did “Troll” start? Who got the idea, D&D, role-playing folks, something from a book or movie?
Just wondering, thought the word was funny…

My new phase has become, Crack smoking troll used in various ways…and I don’t even have to say bad words.

Just wondering.

actually I think the term refers to the fishing technique.

You toss bait into the water and slowly drag it along until the fish bite.

I think “Troll” has existed ever since dumbasses roamed the internet.

“Damned be the day that befalls us in a most hostile manner that shall compromise our Country, and damned be the great lengths at which are required of to stir our Patriotism.” - Anonymous

in usage, st00’s def is the right one.
what they look like is the “under the bridge” one
and the fact that more of them are on the internet than in stocked ponds is equally true.

hahaha

Kung Lek

Thanks

Etymological Future

Overuse and misuse such as using the term as a general expression of dislike is probably generalizing or degrading the meaning.
