This Wednesday...

I’m surprised I haven’t been hearing a lot of doom and gloom predictions about this…

8:02 pm on February 20 this year will be a historic moment in time. It will not be marked by the chiming of any clocks or the ringing of bells, but at that precise time, on that specific date, something will happen which has not occurred for 1,001 years and will never happen again. As the clock ticks over from 8.01 pm on Wednesday, February 20, time will, for sixty seconds only, read in perfect symmetry 2002, 2002, 2002, or to be more precise - 20:02, 20/02, 2002.

Be a good time to take a minute of meditation/reflection, eh?

That is like thick man. A pity my stupid ass will forget within 10 minutes.

****! Thats deep stuff. Didnt even realize it.

It’s not the last time it’ll happen. What about 12 minutes past 9pm on December 21st 2112:

21:12 21/12 2112

YAWN

I’ll make it a point to take a dump at that exact moment…

Well, it’s more interesting than anything you’ve said recently, mate!

Serpent, wouldn’t that be:

21:12 12/21 2112?

Unless you’re from someplace that represents the day of the week and month in a REALLY weird way.

Budokan,
Like I said…moment of meditation. That’s when I think my deepest thoughts. I’m sure some others will chime in and admit the same. Right?

crickets chirp

Right?

More **** crickets

:frowning:
Oh well.

Like in parts of Asia, Europe, Africa, etc… Not only do you have to get used to the 24 hour clock, but the different way they write the dates…

Really? I NEVER knew anyplace else represented the date differently…
Live and learn.

Hey.

It’s you Guys in the US that got it reversed.
1.) There are 24 Hours in a Day not 2 x 12.
2.) DD/MM/YYYY is more logical than MM/DD/YYYY

But I guess you Guys also still follow the old British idea that the metric system is too difficult to comprehend.

FWIW, the Japanese have Movies starting at 25:00.

Have a good one.

Hey, you started it! You’re the one that put 20/02 for tomorrow’s date!

And besides, it is more logical - I’ve always been annoyed at the American way of writing the date.

And as far as I know, only Amreica does it that way. Got to be different, you lot. Got to be the big kid with the best ideas!

I get around this globe a fair bit and just abou everywhere writes the date dd/mm/yy. That includes all of Europe, most of Asia, Australia and New Zealand, etc.

Anybody else out there come from a country that writes it the US way?

I think the USA is also the only Country that still uses the imperial measurement system.

Britain officially got rid of it to a large degree,

Guys, wake up this is the 21st century, time to get inline with the rest of the universe. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Metric System RULES!!!

^^^ sorry

anton.

Feeling better now??

Civilians in the USA write the MM/DD/YYYY, while the US Military writes DD/MM/YYYYY.

Just a little input.

Peace

Je Lei Sifu

heh

well since any form of measurement is basicly arbitary, i say we go to light seconds. in the meantime i’ll have a nice 6oz ribeye.

what about the blokes in London with the court case? Judge said they had to stop priceing in pound and ounce increments.

so where did the ideology of a foot come from

was it a kings foot
was it perfectly 12inches
what is an inch
what makes mr.inch so special i have to measure centimeter’s
to it’s length

or a yard, whho’s yard we talking about
someone must have really thought mr.yards lawn was the shiznit
to make a whole civilization, follow-suit.

did yall know the word **** came from jon.?.er alive in 1519.
what did he do
and his mom must have done worse
for me to be mad at you and call you a mother
er???.

the states writes like we do in canada

maybe its a civil thing, unlike those backwards englishman

here’s how us backward Brits do it

time is recorded in largest unit first format
date is recorded in smallest unit first format

Kinda logical when you think about what information you need first to have a useful interpretation.

here’s the North American method:

time is recorded in largest unit first format, but noone likes counting past 12 when denoting hours, even though there are 24 of them.
date is recorded in middle/smallest/largest format

hmmm

Plus us ‘backward’ Englishman understand weights and measures in both metric and Imperial - must be our deficient education system. Although the ‘European Community’ has now prevented us from selling solely in Imperial measurements - to the point that it is now a criminal offence. What a bunch of arse.

Before you ask - yes I’m very bored at work and I’mbeing deliberately antagonistic
