Wow, what a newsflash. Most people already know that the Alliance is no different than the Taliban, except to short-sighted rat-f*cking politicians who do what they can whenever it’s politically expedient. --And that goes for both sides of the Aisle in Washington, by the way.

What we need to do is drop in a western education system and give those folks some exposure to the world.

If all you know is oppresion, dust and ancient rules for living, then that’s all you’re ever gonna know.

Still, the Taliban are a bunch of ignorant idiots, as well as their counterparts.

The military should get in, whip the guys who arranged and funded the terror in NY and get out. Then try to work things out in a manner that will allow these countries to come up to at least 19th century standards.

If people are going to change, they have to want to change. To want to change, one must be exposed to new things that they did not know existed.

Kung lek,

Exactly right! I argued this repeatedly with some of my co-workers in the intel community… so MANY of them want to get in, do the job, and get out, not understanding that education will be the key to a permanent victory.

That is based on the assumption that a western education system will give them exposure to the world. This is not necessarily the case

However, I do agree that education is the key.

C’mon the Taliban are smarter. At least they would have disarmed any Northern Alliance defectors before letting them behind their lines.
