southern systems in movies

does anyone know of movies that have SPM, Bak Mei, dragon etc. as a major fighting style in it.
i have The Prodigal Son which is Bak Mei v’s Wing Chun.
Are there other movies that have fighters specializing in the system with good scenes using the systems for fighting.
Hung Ga has alot of movies using the system so i don’t want to know about that,(no offence, ihave many movies with HG)
if anyone knows of any, please feel free to name them

7 Grandmasters - Bak Mei but a little different to what you’re used to.

Return of the Scorpion -
Has Monkey, Dragon, Choy Li Fut(Lee Koon Hong), Wing Chun, Lama, Praying Mantis and Hung Gar (Chiu Chi Ling)…They all put together their styles to fight Karate/Tang Soo Do
It is great!

Wulinlegend,
thanks for the reply. Curious as to how i may be able to get copies of these movies and any others if possible.

FT,
I did but you know how hard it is when u cannot speak the language & they ignore you half the time.

Spiritual Kung Fu has good 5 animals.

Iron Monkey (duh).

Tai Chi Master has Chen and Yang.

Revenge of the Tai Chi Master has excellent chicken style.

Tai Chi 2 had a bunch of stuff fighting Yang.

Wing chun fights a guy who I swear throws in some dragon stuff and that’s why he bests her.

WuLin, there’s a video store on 40th and 8th in NYC that sells really bad copies of any movie you could want. Thanks for the “Return of the Scorpion” hint. Saaaaaay… as one poor person to another, wanna trade copies of copies?

“Waiting is bad.” - Musashi

east coast is a bit far for me!
you know it would be good if someone uploaded these old flicks on the web like they do soo many other things !(ie porn)…
I guess there is not enough demand

7 Grandmasters-

In my opinion this is a not that a good movie, but I like it only cause it was based on the exploits of Chueng Lai Chun. It was made in Taiwan and the bak mei shown in the movie looks very bad. But then real bak mei doesn’t look good in the movies…

Kull

Hi there,
Just wondering why you made the comment’‘Bak Mei doesn’t look good in movies’’
Have you seen The form ‘Sat Batt Mor’
Asthetically it looks amazing. It also looks lethal!!!
That is, if it is performed correctly.
The true art of Pak Mei to me is that if there is a confrontation then there are no second chances.
So what you said makes some sense, in that,if there was a film about Pak Mei then there would have to be alot of adversaries for the Pak Mei guy
to take on.If not it would be a very short film.

kull

kull,
the 7 g/master wasnt a really exciting movie but it was one of the only bak mei movies at that time so i think it was pretty good.

i like the part when he say " i smashed him one in the ribs and he got away" and “thoughs bak mei fist are terrible”

cloudone- no bak mei sifu would put sup batt mor kuil on video, its against the rules. sup batt mor is usually kept for the teachers son or bai shee disciple same as mung fu chut lum.

Movies

Monkey Kung Fu:
“Stroke of Death”, “Mad Monkey Kung Fu”

Tiger/Crane:
“Executioners of Death”, “Fists of the White Lotus”

Snake/Eagle:
“Snake In The Eagle’s Shadow”

Si Fu and student relationships

F.T,
I have also been told this about Sat BattMor.
Do you agree that it should be passed down this way or can you pay for it?
How many Bai Shee can a Si Fu have? Do you think that if the si fu had no sons that he chooses to pass this on to his students.
Can you tell me were you taught Meng Fu Tut lam?
If so is it a form you learn?
How do you know if you or anybody has been taught Sat Batt Mor correctly?
P.S Why have you not said anything on Lotus Flower thread?

There are different versions of Sup Bat Mor Kiu and as result which is correct is subjec to interpretation. Some Softer others harder, some faster, some slower…etc…though there is a general guiding principle…so which is it??? ah ha!

cloudone

these forms are paid by blood, sweat and tears, no money can buy them!!

i think that a teacher should teach them, but you have to understand to know these forms is to know bak mei, it is given to disciples that are going to carry on the system and no other reason. i dont think the sons should inherit the system only if the disciples are more interested than the sons or daughters. why should someone be held back because he is not blood.

why teach it to someone if they will sit at home doing nothing. so only selected students get to do bai shee, not everyone.

i know all levels of those forms and different versions as well. differnt power to normal forms, they are performed with yau kung soft power but fast.

it took me over 10 years before i learnt these levels and i worked my guts out for the system, and my sifu. trust and honour is involved in becoming a bai shee.

i will have a look at your lotus thread and see if i can answer it.

WuLin you are so mysterious!

You seem to know so much about so many things…
First a Bak Mei expert now a Hung Gar expert, You know all about BFP and YGM. Simon right? Have you always had the same Sifu?

Let’s not forget…

Last week Simon was a student of 5 Ancestors, 5 Families, 5 Animals as well as the Hung Gar. Not too mention having such extensive knowledge of Bak Mei, Bak Fu Pai, & YKM, despite having never studied any of them. We are truly lucky to have such a resource on this board. Why do I bother?

Sifu like the wind, air like I breath, mystery is a wonderful thing, should I ever leave!!!

I didn’t say I know them I am sure you know of them
