Is it better to do clean and presses together or cleans and then push presses afterwards seperately? Does anyboy have a good workout that incorporates this lift? Any workout with JUST this lift (in case you don’t have access to benches or racks- just a bar and plates)?
It’s a personal preference thing.
Either you go with the full range of movement working both or you isolate a little and work each separately. Each separately might keep weak muscles from holding back your strong ones (if that makes any sense).
Lately I’ve been getting really interested in simple lifts that incorporate a large number of muscles- as opposed to isolating each muscle group. I plan on integrating kettle bells and their exercises with the following 4 lifts:
squat
deadlift
clean & press
pull ups (I know this don’t seem like a lift).
Each lift will supplement a different kettlebell day. I’ll do 5 to 10 sets of each lift; with a low to medium number of reps (not going to failure). Also kicking around the idea of adding other lifts, but i think i’ll end up sticking with those 4 core lifts, kettle bells, kung fu, and calisthenics/basics. Each one of those core lifts can lead to overtraining when combined with another core lift on the same day.
That’s just a little of what I’m planning. 2 kettle bells, the video, power to the people, a barbell, and 2 or 4 45-pound spongy weights will probly run me around 700 total.
There are so many theories out there on weight training, the key is to stick with one for a while until you get results & feel like you understand it, then experiment with other techniques & methods, finding what’s right for you and your goals..
No, that’s a pavel Tsatsoulie(sp)aka the Russian Guy routine. I pulled my stuff off cyberpump.com and hardgainer.com. Read through the sites, good stuff.
