I have read a little about the Tibettan Spirit Dagger, the Phurba, and it’s use, but so far have not found a satisfactory account or example of it’s use, only hints. Is there anywhere I can find detailed information on HOW it’s used in ritual, such as a ritual outline or detailed account or instructions from a Tibettan Shaman?

Look up Dorjee and Vajra Bell, if you want more information, It is used to Vajrayana tradition to symbolise wisdom and removing hindrance to enlightenment.

The rituals will vary in accordance to the sect of the Tibetan Buddhists. There are various rituals that come into play for this item. But, there are also many symbolic items that are held or placed upon an altar. Originally, the Phurba is considered a nail of all things. It can harm a spirit where a normal knife couldn’t. This lends use in many rituals of cleansing and such.
