I am in an argument right now with a friend and want to ask you guys. What is the most densly populated country in the world? I say India, my friend says Japan. Either of us right or wrong? I know India has like 1 billion people, but I mean dense by size and population. Ya know, 2000 people per square mile or whatever type stuff.
Also, what is the most densly populated city in the world? I say Mexico City, friend says Tokyo. Thanks.

Most densely populated Country would be Japan. Not sure if Singapore counts.
Most densely populated City, my guess would be HongKong.
Tokyo is a close contender as well, if not the leader.
But I might be wrong.

I know, I know, it says island…I dunno, I am not very well in these areas.
The most densely populated contry is the Princiality of Monaco wiht somehing like 33,000 people per square mile. Keep in mind that little Monaco is a city-state. Behind Monaco are other city-states like Andora ,Lechentstein (sp) and probably the Vatican City.

The city with the highest population is Mexico City.
The city with the greatest pop. density is Tokyo.
The country with the highest population is China.
The country with the highest population density is Singapore.
Don’t confuse density with overall population. Why do you want to know anthow? There are better socio-economic indicators that density.

Thought so. The SAD, SAD reason is that I frequently have similar arguments with a mate in my Geo class.
It’s got to the point that I can name every capitol city and currency in the world - just so he can’t outwit me.
Or conversations usually go like:
Me: “Morning Jason”
Jason: “Mornin’ mate… Bolivia?”
Me: “La-Paz… how was your weekend?”
Jason: “OK, went out on Friday, got totalled… Papua New Guinea?”
Me:“Port Moresby… I went out too, crap night though… The Philippeans?”
etc…
