Ah, sitting here in Manhattan, where panic is particularly high thismorning (my coworkers are refusing their mail, most people I know won’t use the subway if they can avoid it, people in the outer boroughs are refusing to come to work), this photo made me feel better.

No, a well planned and well coordinated operation took down the WTC.
The boxcutters were a means to an end. They could have used sharpened tooth brushes and achieved the same results.
The boxcutters were props used to achieve psychological domination of the targets. On the plane that went down in Pennsylvania, one of the tangos had a box strapped to his belly that he told everyone was a bomb.
It’s not the mechanical effectiveness of a brandished weapon that achieves the perp’s desired ends, it’s in how he gets the target to perceive that weapon that gets the job done.
Using your logic, you could just as easily say that an empty box strapped on a guy’s belly took down the WTC (assuming the tangos on the other flights used the same PsyWar tactics).
