Dude, im waiting for this book since the begining of the year, when i had not started training yet. I pre-ordered, waited some 2 months, got tired, canceled the pre-order.
Now i’m going to pre-order again
“You will never need to feel weak, helpless, indecisive, not fascinating or ashamed of your genital dimensions. GOOD-BYE Humiliation. Bullies, Karate Experts, Boxing Champions, traffic wardens will melt to pulp as you master every situation.”
Master Deltoo http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Stadium/2477/
That publication date has been pushed back more times than I can count. I initially tried to order it over a year ago. I wouldn’t bet on it coming out anytime soon, but who knows…maybe this time.
The way of the samurai is in desperateness. Ten men or more cannot kill such a man. Common sense will not accomplish great things. Simply become insane and desperate. - Hagakure
Now i realize one can’t judge anyone on the picture because a picture only captures a split second, but, why that photo for the cover? why is sifu sheum’s Left punching hand all bend like that, i mean, if it DID hit the guy in that position his wrist would get hurt quite a bit? i mean, they shoulda picked a better photo for the cover…makes me kinda uninterested…
For the people that DO end up recieving this book, do you think you can let me know how good it is, and what is included in it? because i don’t wanna buy it until i know there is really stuff i wanna learn from it. if it’s just a form, i have no intrest. If it had a lot of eagle claw history, or stories that happened to ng wai nung or anyone. im REALLY intrested.
that was my best guess too, but would ur fist bend like that if it was blocked? i mean, that looks like it’s dilerbately bent, even if i have my blocked when i punch at someone, it dun bend that much when deflected.
anyways, do you know what the book contains exactly?
what are in sheum sifu’s older books? I’ve read one that contains some eagle claw form of one or another sort, and some of the history of Ng wai nung.
Must admit its a pretty lame picture. But the application is called the Chan Tiu or shoveling up palm block. I guess the bent wrist was meant to show the power of the block against the wrist joint since that is the target area.
The books main strong point is the first time any of the complete 108 training drills has appeared in print. Each will have a 3 point set up which leads to a joint locking technique.
Lau Fat Man had a similar book out but only showed the joint lock and not how to set it up.
So your in brazil. They have a lot of eagle claw in brazil im told. Don’t they have a tournament down there just for eagle claw guys?
How is the eagle claw down there?? i’ve only seen a few, but from what i’ve seen they had really tight muscles, and did a lot of fighting like sanshou and lei tai.
You might wanna check barnes and nobles too, beacuse maybe you can get it for slightly cheaper shipping and tax even though the price is a few bucks more…it’s worth a try ne?
Yes, there eagle claw tournaments but i so far havent been to any, i’ll check it out the next ones.
Eagle claw here i belive must be no different that in other places exept for some details. I dont really know what you mean about tight muscles, do you mean they were tense? If thats it then its all their fault I myselt stay as balanced between tense and relaxed as much as i can but some guys are just too tense.
In my school sanshou is separeted from the tradicional eagle claw teaching, but ocasionaly we train sanshou stuff in the ec class and weapons sparring too.
I’ve seen the price in Barnes & Noble and it makes the total price 3 dollars cheaper, thanks for the tip
I’m too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt
I’m too sexy for your mother, too sexy for your mother
So sexy, YEAH
I meant tight or tense as in their muscles, especially their waist and arms/shoulders from what i have seen are always tense. The ppl i’ve seen tended to resemble sanshou fighters more than trad. eagle claw guys. Like i said, i’ve only seen few ppl from down there.
