Neck exercises

I was looking through some of the previous topics (did a search for NECK) and didnt see anything addressing the topic too much.

Does anyone know of any good exercises that help strengthen the neck and head?

I looked in a serach and what I came up with was more injury related exercises. I am not injured, my neck is fine, I just wondered if anyone knew of some good exercises for the neck to get it stronger.

Thanks.

I do…

I learned this from my teacher who was the wrestling coach(had a good team)

It’s like, a stretch and workout at the same time sorta…

What you do is, lie on your back on the ground, and make it so the top of your head is flat on the ground(as u can) and arch your back (kinda making a bridge, i think the exercise is called neck bridging or something)

This may seem difficult to some at first, but once u get the hang of it, and it gets easier, u can start getting on your tippy toes, so your arching further back, and putting more weight on your neck.(my teacher can do this with a 200+lb person sitting on his chest, he only weighs 140, little guy with alot of power, puts up 300+ bench)

Hope this helps!

oh yea…

forgot to tell you,

you should do them the opposite way too, so your neck isn’t jes stretching 1 way,

Get on your knees, and put the top of your head on the ground, and lean foward, this is not a workout, just a stretch, but u should do it if you plan on working out your neck first…take it slow, so you wont accidentally hurt yourself though…

hope this helps too!
