My apologies everyone. As you may have noticed, we’ve been overrun by Temu Spambots. I’ve had to ban over 20 new members today and yesterday, plus delete dozens of spam threads. They are penetrating our new forum somehow, bypassing membership approval. I’ve got our IT on it. Please be patient.
Just banned 3 more accounts and deleted a few dozen spam posts.
Our IT is looking into it.
Somedays maintaining this forum is such a hassle.

Thanks DanChase. It’s been a painful week so far.
Just banned another 20 temuspambots and deleted several dozen of their spammy threads.
I’m checking in with our IT now. Not sure how they are getting around our application approval process. These spambots are getting so clever, so invasive.
Our IT has temporarily shut down all new user registration for now, until we can get on top of this temuspambot siege. He’s identified a few potential features in our upgraded forum that should help block spammers but he’s running some tests first.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we quell this latest spambot siege.

Not like you don’t have enough to worry about, but you might want to have IT check the emojis. I put a couple in my last post (like a big grin next to where I thank you for sharing the blame for my thread getting deleted), and they don’t seem to have shown up. I’m not super tech savvy so it may be me, but it seems pretty straightforward. I will close this post with another emoji to test.

DanChase’s thread was not the only one deleted. There was one I updated shortly before the spam attacks that simply went. It was not my thread and I am okay with it.
