I was reading an interesting thread on Hsing-I.com’s message board. Some guy challenged Mike Patterson to prove if his “Iron Body” excercises were true. Even James Randi wrote a post, addressing him as a “phony”. Mr. Patterson was completely decided to accept the challenge…but after that, the message board went down, and I never knew what happened.-
Do some of you remember that thread?, and what happened? does someone have any update on this?

I can’t seem to reach his board anymore, but shortly after I emailed him apologizing for a post I had made.
The post was directed towards Randi, whom I had dealings with before. Randi tends to want to frame the exact conditions of any experiment to work in his favor. Mike had already stated he could repeat the demonstration and Randi stated some loose terms which Mike accepted. The board then went down.
When Mike replied to me he said that he had emailed Randi twice to try to pin down the exact terms and Randi was evading him. I don’t know what followed, and I haven’t been able to get to Mike’s board since. Which is a tragedy btw, but he may have felt it was more trouble than it was worth.
{in an aside, in the Avatar, if you look at my rear foot, it is pointing a bit to the outside. It should be pointing straight. As I said this pick was taken about a month in from me practicing this particular form, and that and several other errors in the image have been corrected.}
Ah yes, I did note that 2.17 degree shift from the correct one.
(And is that a squirrel hiding acorns near an anthill in the far left background?)
Yeah, one of the other students used to feed him, but i hated the little *******, so I shot him. Amazing what a twelve gauge will do to a squirrel.
Amazing how upset the police in SF get if you use a 12 gauge to shoot a squirrel.

from what i understand, the bbs is too much of a headache to administrate. he does everything with the site, and would
prefer to do OTHER things to propagate the art, because at
this time, its R and D to try to find a suitable package in
which user verification and validation are a snap for an
administrator… and R and D time is a luxury ill-afforded in
his case. hes a premiere martial arts instructor, and not a
webmaster.
lets see what most people would rather deal with…
flaky and/or anonymous detractors

i am not saying that one would rather be appreciated
for ones contribution to the art, as saying that would
merely serve to stroke the ego… theres an overall gist
of what i am getting at here, and i believe that enough
is enough for shrfu patterson. so why put up with that?!
and truly, if james randi posted those things:
i am a fan of james randi, believe it or not. i understand
where he comes from, but i believe deep down inside he
is a bitter man who lacks compassion and love for his
fellow man, and is disillusioned (pardon the pun) and
jaded. this leads to his inevitable conclusion that MAN
is not to be trusted ever with anything other than fact
because fact can be proved or disproved, and ‘energy’,
‘chi’, or metaphysics cannot be either, for they are not
concrete and are machinations of mans fertile imagination,
and as a creation of man, are not trustworthy… and
empirically where mans creations are used and abused
to gain advantage over other human beings, his point
is reinforced and becomes more staid and steadfast
in minds like his.
so for skeptics like him, i say just ignore him and let him
pick on someone else who deserves it… for there are
certainly MANY fakes and advantage-takers out there
to pick on.
theres no connection between the randi iron body
“challenge” and a certain bbs dropping away for a bit.
i am not, nor have i ever been a spokesperson for
shrfu patterson.
i just know what i see. and i have seen a lot in the
past decade or so.
Whats up with those loose quarks and gluons floating at the subatomic level in D. Madars avatar? Don’t you know what those particals could do to your form? Besides moving the foot, I mean…

Randy’s certainly a slippery fellow. He called me a “stupid canard”. But Mike’s board does seem to go down in odd intervals… Must be that “contagin” again.
